RE: woman caught in hospital "ecig fire".....
Thanks for the vid. I'm thinking the lighter is more likely the cause. It would have been nice if they would have said what kind of e-cig she was using and if she was charging it there. I did burn my pants leg once with my megalodon. I forgot to lock it out and it was firing in my pocket. I think I was more lucky that I didn't blow up the battery than catch my pants on fire though. It was all pretty hot and the battery covering was a little melted. But once again user error and big batteries can happen. I also hurt myself pretty good once with a chain saw. Yet they don't splash chain saw stories all over the news. I guess it's really a man bites dog story. So unusual that it makes news.

I a brighter note, I now actually believe you are English. Nice bit of the old accent there. Better not come to the US the ladies will be chasing you around just to hear you talk.

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

I forgot about my American friends lol. Hope I'm not too broad.

My point was, although its possible to deliberately use an ecig and oxygen to cause a fire, its unlikely that was the cause in normal use.

They're really clutching at straws and playing on the paranoia to make a story where there isn't one. There's more coming up on this which I'll link when its published.

You wouldn't want to do that near liquid oxygen...

Not under any sane set of circumstances. But I have worked with the stuff and would prefer never to have to do so again. We used the stuff by the ton in a sewage works I worked in many years ago. The hard standing for the tankers had been tarred. That would have been interesting if any liquid oxygen ever hit it. So we all went out and screamed at the contractor till they took the tar away. That would have been a truly impressive kaboom!
