what is the lowest resistance you can safely go with a single 18650
been using a .1 ohm , but like oliver twist i want more.

RE: sub ohm w/mech
You are already pushing the limits at .1 ohm. On a fresh battery that is 40 Amps - way high - and 170+ watts. A 1.5 still pushes it on a single battery. Still around 30 amps curent needed. I never use lower than about 1.8 on my tube mechs. Which is why I rarely use my tube mechs. I use dual battery boxes instead.

RE: sub ohm w/mech
Depends on the battery. There's no "one size fits all," you need to know your cell's amp limit then use Ohm's Law to figure out what's safe. Good cells like the 25R, HE2, etc have an amp limit around 20A, that means the safe minimum at 4.2V is 0.21 ohms. And that's assuming 100% efficiency in the circuit, which is far from the truth. Really, based on the math, the lowest safe recommendable resistance is around 0.3 ohms or so. Of course, some of us frequently go below that and don't have any problems, but in the interest of safety and not pushing your cell's too hard, that's the best recommendation I can do.

RE: sub ohm w/mech
You've just reminded me I'm supposed to send you those extra tube bits, dammit I totally forgot chuck. ASAP bud.

You want more than .1?!! Wow.  Even if you did go much lower you'll not gain, once you've hit the discharge amp limit all you effectively do is heat the battery.
This is where coil experiments come into their own, some coils produce more heat, flavour, vapour, than others. Maybe what you want is a different coil, you just don't know it yet  Wink

This. I use a series box when I want to throw clouds and I never go below .5 ohm. This is a build I'm using now and it chucks serious clouds ...

RE: sub ohm w/mech
after visiting a near by vape shop it seems i had an bit of a poor prospective on the whole cloud chasing thing .
i had neglected to take into account the fact my mancave ( where i vape ) is only 8'x12' and a more oppen area will allow the cloud to form more freely . then the fact behind the cloud is not the best view.
