I need to redo the gate wire with a 2k2 resistor and connect the switch to the positive rather than negative, but jury rigging it and it fires.

It calculates out the cells will do 700watts continuous and 998watts pulse. Should be enough lol

Is this the one with the ridiculously strong packs you were talking about?

1.5ohm gets fucking hot fucking quick......

I'm struggling to get the gate to open though, need to speak to some electrically minded people to see what I'm missing from the circuit.

It looks fantastic and holy cow it should have enough power to drive a small car let alone an e-cig. Focus

When you say you are having trouble getting the gate to open, do you mean it's only hitting once in a while? Will it open at higher ohms and not at lower? If it won't open with a lower ohm atty I would guess that you have some kind of short protection kicking in.

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

It lives. Its fucking insane Smile

18sixfifty. The issue was you need a resistor between gate and source. It would fire and then just keep firing. The resistor pulls the gate back open so it stops and starts on the switch. Smile

Take it you have to use thin wire to get the resistance high enough. Or have you sneaked coils the length of your arms in there? Smile

I've opened out the drip tip bore to about 5mm this morning which has made a big improvement, I've room to go further with that yet. I'm just charging my various lipo packs, need to cut a perspex spacer for the cover to make things a bit nicer and ventilate the box.

The mosfets aren't getting hot as yet so I'm fairly chuffed with it. Smile

Is that build on the Zenith Graham? what did you do for airflow and did the lower ohms solve the latching problem on the mosfets?

Nice video BTW and bravo for mentioning about the safety aspects Good2
