RE: safe limits on cells.
The one I keep seeing is way outdated and is full of errors.

Can you not find the specs on the cells in question then stick a potential build in an ohms law calculator?

RE: safe limits on cells.
Maybe it's time we made one?
Not that hard where we can find datasheets.

And ignore pulse crap!

RE: safe limits on cells.
I'm sure I can find a data sheet, just don't like doing all that on my cell. Seen a deal on some 4.35v Samsung cells, wondering if they would be better than what I got

RE: safe limits on cells.
Samsung ICR18650-32A
Max discharge current = 6400mA

Max resistance:
0.586 ohm at nominal voltage of 3.75v
0.656 ohm at 4.2v charge
0.68 ohm at 4.35v charge

I figured it would have been able to handle a higher discharge than that.

But yes, we should make up our own chart and post it as a sticky somewhere. Maybe a locked forum for vape safety. Have this chart, battery safety, using a DMM to check resistance of coils and battery voltage... Kind of a "Using the gear safely for dummies" kind of thing

Sanyo UR18650W2
Max discharge current 15a

Max resistance:
0.28 ohm at 4.2v charge
0.247 ohm at nominal voltage of 3.7v

RE: safe limits on cells.
2c is a pretty standard discharge rate for icr cells, so 6.4a sounds about right. I agree about ignoring pulse rates. Their bloody dangerous

I tend to ignore rates period, because I am pretty thick skulled. But I am really impressed with the Sanyo cells I have. Think it was $20 for the 10 cells brand new in a tool pack. Would love to get another dozen of them cells at the same price
