ry4 v virginia
tastes are very different i know, does anyone else beside me think ry4 does not resemble tobbaco in any way or form, been a virginia tobbaco smoker for years and never tasted anything like ry4 in what i smoked,ok so i have learned i dont like ry4 so why is it when i buy virginia e liquid that i have watched reviews on saying this is golden virginia or virginia tobbaco when i get it it tastes like ry4, i have found what i believe to be true tobbaco flavours in, ok smokey, and tripphammer, so my quest for cheaper tobbacos is over, i now know the saying you get what you pay for to be true, so do  any other virginia fans agree with me or is it just my taste buds letting me down...                                                                                                                                                                                                                   p.s.   whilst on the subject of personal tastes after reading a review on menthol e liquid quote ( best e liquid i have tried, and i have tried a few believe me )from one of the cheapest online e liquid sellers thought cant go wrong for the price, the taste can only be described as, you know when you buy a packet of extra strong mints and throw them away before you open the packet ...

RE: ry4 v virginia
RY4 is definitely an acquired taste.  We carry RY4 as a house juice in my shop (We dont mix in house), and I have to agree that it doesn't really resemble tobacco.

As far as other juices that actually resemble tobacco, Essex makes a house line that has a few tobacco flavors, and they're dead on.  We carry them in our shop as a house juice.

RE: ry4 v virginia
I think a lot of it has to do with each person's taste. I personally can't stand most tobacco flavors, in fact there's only one that I like out of the dozens I've tried. To me, tobacco e-liquid tastes like "Liquid Smoke," that stuff used for cooking, but some people love tobacco flavors. I've never tried Essex, I might have to look into that. So far the only one I like is Hangsen's Red. Which is kind of funny, since it's actually the cheapest one I've tried but it's way better than the really expensive ones I've had.

RE: ry4 v virginia
A bit late to this thread here but anyway, i vape ry4 as my mainstay. I like it to be as close to the old recipe as possible which is never overdone in the flavour dept. Subtle tones of caramel & vanilla over a mild tobacco which is hard to detect, that suits me perfectly.
I vape a 50/50 pg/vg at 12mg, pre-made, dripped onto cotton & there's not an eliquid out there that i like better.
I agree it isn't like any kind of smoke but then nor is any eliquid, i just enjoy it & actually if i couldn't get a decent ry4 i might not vape at all, it really is my adv & there are no other eliquids that i have tried so far that can compete in my case.

Hey Bill, what's the name of that juice? Sounds like a good one.

(on an unrelated note, I had to really restrain myself to keep from calling you "Scroty McBoogerballs" from South Park)

RE: ry4 v virginia
We did a monthly special last year with a Bright Virginia from North Carolina with a little natural vanilla and a little Burley for the caramel.
We named it "Real  Why 4?". It was a hit here locally.
Pretty interesting concept: a real tobacco flavored with real vanilla and caramel to simulate a synthetic tobacco that was simulating a natural flavor.
It was very good.

RE: ry4 v virginia
I am interested in getting into NETS myself ,  i can't stand turkish tasting tobaccos though lol.

The only things i have tried are from vendors who offered samples free of charge ,  i just don't buy juice without being able to sample it first.

The competition is so ferocious now between vendors and getting worse every day (much more than it used to be) that one of the best ways to build a sizable customer base is literally giving samples away to as many people as possible so they can try it.

I did a poll awhile back and asked vapors how often do you seek out juice vendors in order to try their juice and i was surprised how few do that ,  a few vendors are so aggressive with sending out free samples, (literally every other week they advertise and offer it) ,  i sent an email asking them how do you not lose money.

They said they realize that the profits will come later but this is the way to get the most repeat business in the end .  They did say the offer has been incredibly successful and they already have triple the customer base from what they had just three months ago .

Ballsy but effective i guess.
