Hey, Spensir, welcome to the TVF family! Good to have you here.

I've not heard anything about the IPV4 but have heard a lot of good concerning the IPV3 so I can't imagine the 4 being bad.

RE: pioneer4you ipv4
From what I've heard through the distributor for my shop, the IPV4 will blow the IPV3 out of the water.  Yes, currently the IPV3 will go up to 165 watts with a quick software upgrade, and the IPV4 is only 100 watts.  However, the IPV4 can be run on temperature control...which means really low wattage and regulating the temperature.

If you're not familiar with this feature, it requires nickel wire builds.  Aspire makes modular nickel coils for the Nautilus.  If you build your own coils for an atty, you simply use nickel wire...it runs at .01 ohms or lower.  Once you're set up you can hold the fire button down with dry cotton in your atty and it WILL NOT BURN.  Regulating the temp is much more efficient because the battery will pulse to keep a constant temp.

It's not the first mod to use this...but being from Pioneer 4 You...it's bound to take the market once again.

As far as release date...it will depend on which retailer you're buying it from.  Some will get it faster than others...depending on when they pre-ordered.

RE: pioneer4you ipv4
I seem to recall some concern in the vaping community a while back from a mod or atty that contained nickel. I'd assume it's been tested and found to be safe, or else they wouldn't make an entire mod based on using it, but I'd also be interested to see the research if there is any. Anyone got a link or at least something to say about why I should put nickel in my atty? It seems like a bad idea since you could end up inhaling nickel particles, but I just want to know more about it.

RE: pioneer4you ipv4
The nickel is just VERY low resistance and when used by itself on normal mods will cause nice mods to become shrapnel very quickly.  With temp control devices, resistance is no longer relevant, because the mod will get to the set temp and stay there.

The IPV4 is not the first mod to use temp control as an option.  The Vaporshark DNA 40 has been out for a while now and has the temp control feature. It's a 40 watt device that hits like it's running at 125 watts with a nickel build.

From experience playing with the Vaporshark, the coils never actually get red hot, unlike Kanthal.  Typically, on the Vaporshark I was running around 400 degrees.  From the specs on the IPV4, it's very similar.

You won't find me using Nickel builds, and it's unlikely you'll find Don using them either. I've spoken to Dr Farsalinos personally and he's well aware of the potential hazards of Nickel and intends to do full testing with Nickel builds, but as of right now the funding isn't there unfortunately.

RE: pioneer4you ipv4
Like Spas said it not something I'm personally interested in due to the lack of info. Plus the fact that temp control mods are more expensive at the moment compared to other mods..

Temperature control is a game changer. Just not with nickel IMO

RE: pioneer4you ipv4
All it will take is one or two people popping a nickel build atty onto a non-temp controlled mod or accidentally grabbing the nickel wire for a regular build. That would f#ck then up bad and you will see the entire industry get hammered because of it.
