perhaps maybe a box build
I could.. but what??

I've never liked the snow wolf box so the chip could be used elsewhere when I get my wismec 200. But then it's just a snow wolf in sheep's clothing..

 I could go dual 18650 or something more, like a triple 26650 or a Parallel-series 18650!

So the first idea is just a transplant, easy enough. The other options though.. where do I find a mosfet and switch that can handle that kind of power?
The switch I could probably do but it'd be big.

Made from what? wood, aluminium, steel, carbon fibre?

So many decisionsWacko. I need to have an objective, a clear design in my mind to follow through with a box build. Without that it would take too long to adlib something and I just don't have masses of time to put into it, though I'd prefer to make something off the cuff it's not going to happen.

If you've got any good ideas they'd be well received, even if it's quit while your ahead. lol

briar , hard easy to work and readily available in the UK . and it's extremely heat resistant

Burbon comes from Kentucky , scotch comes from Scotland . Others deserve no bottle .

Had to Google that! Haha. only briar I'd heard of was brambles.
Wood work isn't my forté, not that I can't, but it'll be painstaking for me getting it right. I was hoping for just a few days assembly if I can. I'll have a look at availability and how to cut/join it etc.
Cheers

RE: perhaps maybe a box build
The n°1 abject criteria is that it has to be my box. I'm a pretty good fabricator, imagine a 4mm thick, 5 bar checker plate, tig welded and polished box...
OK, that's probably a bit much but that's kinda where my mind is at with it, something I made that won't be repeated frequently Smile

Though I've got a nice 50w hana chip that would go in one Wink

since you restore classic cars for a living you could have a look around the garage to see what you have laying around
maybe a piston or something car related
here is a good site for DIY mod making Good
http://www.modmaker.co.uk/

if at first you don't succeed ,call it version 1.0

Thanks Bob. Hadn't though of that, though I have no access to a lathe, Mill, cnc etc. All my fab is old school.. guillotine, rolls, scrolls, bender, folder.. oh, and a hammer Tongue  I'll see what's kicking around, I'd guess not much though, someone might miss a piston Big Grin

If you can accurately bend sheet metal you are well on the way.

At least it is easy for me to say that - I'm not the one doing it Smile

found some briar , I'm so tempted to sit in a rocking chair on the porch, whittling a mod. I doubt it'll happen.. mostly 'cuz I don't have a porch Big Grin

Please expand, what were you thinking I'd need to bend?

While your here, parallel in series 18650s how could I make that safe? I can't find a mosfet of that capacity Sad
