I have a tesla sidewinder 1 & 2 and a tesla spider. All amazing batteries. 

Not sure where your problem lies unless you was unlucky enough to receive 2 duds. The vape shop may of well brought in a bad batch. 

My teslas are 2000mah and do take a long time to fully charge.

Once i cut back on my nic levels im probably going to get a mech mod because honestly at that point its more of a hobby for me now its how i kinda get a fix

Let me tell ya, using a mech mod will give you a much stronger hit even with lower nicotine levels. I use 6mg with my rebuildable atties and mechanical mods, and it hits harder than the 18mg ever did in my Protank on an MVP. If you want to get that fix fast, I'd suggest getting a mechanical mod and an RDA, just make sure to cut the nic level WAY down before using it because 18mg will make you feel like you're dying.

is there a specific charger i should be using to charge this thing because my lights are flashing green and red no matter how long its been on
