iStick trouble
Hey folks, first of all let me just say that this is totally my fault, I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the istick because it's a great device. I'm having some trouble with mine, and I was hoping you guys might have some ideas how to fix it. Today my iStick started screwing up and saying "Atomizer short" and to make a long story short, it's shorting out because the rubber insulator beneath the self-adjusting 510 got destroyed so the positive post gets pushed down and touches the negative part. It's not a fault with the iStick, I accidentally screwed it up by pushing a knife down in there to pull the 510 pin back up after I pressed it down too hard. But I just can't figure out a way to get a new insulator down in there. Right now I've got it working with a piece of string wrapped around it to keep my Atty from screwing down far enough to push the pin down, but that's just a really shitty temporary fix. Anyone got an idea for a more permanent solution? I'm thinking I might just pull the pin as high as it will go and then stick some super glue down in there to keep it in place, but I'm not sure if super glue would dry thick enough to pad the post from pushing down again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Children should not play with knives Tongue I'd suggest trying an epoxy resin but quite how you go about getting it in there without it getting on the threads I don't know.. Maybe put Vaseline on the threads first Scratch_one-s_head I hope this helps Michael Good

RE: iStick trouble
I'd avoid using glue, as I think this will get heated up when in use and just melt again. Rob's suggestion sounds the best, I can't think of any other way to fix it Sad bummer!

RE: iStick trouble
I think your temp fix is actually a good one.  Just find a way to not screw the atty all the way down.  That's all I can think of, lol.

RE: iStick trouble
Yeah, unfortunately the string I've got shoved down in there isn't working perfectly cuz it isn't all the way under the pin, so it still will short if I screw it down too far. But at least it's usable. For now the temporary fix is to use my Sigelei.

RE: iStick trouble
tie something around the top of the threads on teh tank so it stops tight 2 threads shy of fully inserted.
