Rainbow iClear 30 Constant Dry Hits
I'm using a MVP 2.0 with an iClear30 tank. When I first got it, I put maybe four drops in the middle to "prime" it, and then I filled the tank up. I'm almost running the lowest settings on it, but I'm hitting it constantly. I'm getting dry hits about every six to ten hits, and I have to put two or three more drops in the middle again. I have no idea why it does this, and I've never had to do it on my other tank (same one, it started leaking, got a new one.) I'm clueless, as I'm not experienced with vaping. Does anybody know why this keeps happening?

Hey mythicalsmoke, cool name Good welcome.

Do you know the vg/pg ratio? It sounds to me like it's high vg. Thicker juice takes longer to reach the coil, giving the symptoms your describing.

By that you mean the ratio in the liquid? I have no clue. The bottles don't have any labels on them. However, I do know that it's 12mg menthol; and when I exhale, it's not very thick. I usually vape at 3.8 volts and 7.5 watts, if that helps any.

Yeah, i meant the juice Mosking my bad

No label? I'd recommend new 50/50 maybe 60/40 juice from a reputable shop, and while your there get yourself a fresh coil too.
With both of those in place, and after a good priming, you should get a really nice vape Smile

There's nothing in your settings that's glaringly wrong, perhaps leaving a longer gap between hits will also help.

Welcome to Forum MS. May I ask where you get unlabeled bottles? Kinda scary. The PG/VG ratio is needed to do problem solving. Also need the resistance of the coil in the tank, if it's under 1.0 ohms that can be a big part of the problem. It sounds like you are vaping MTL and I'm not an expert on that style of vaping. Hopefully, ecig, our resident expert can share his thoughts.

RE: iClear 30 Constant Dry Hits
The coils are normally 2.1ohm for the iclear, 2.1 1.8 or 1.5 for the iclear s. I dont think theres anything under 1 ohm for it bibs, though there'd be little chance of dry hitting a sub ohm coil using 7.5w..

Yeah, where's eddie when you need him? Prolly off sleeping again Tongue

It's from a vape/smoke store. They used to have labels on them, but the owner never specified the PG/VG ratio in them. I've been getting liquid from the them for about a year now, so I doubt credibility/safety is an issue. I'd have to see if I can find an older bottle with a label on it and do some research.

VG/PG ratio is just such an important part of juice buying information. Too much VG can make it too thick for premade coils. Too high PG can cause throat irritation. High VG is used for clouds, more PG is about flavor. I've just never seen a juice bottle without the information. I even put it on my homemade bottles. This is why I was curious.

RE: iClear 30 Constant Dry Hits
Hi MythicalSmoke - Great name right enough - welcome to the forum. At 7.5W it will be the 2.1ohm coil and that is fine my only thoughts are that the juice is high in VG and also Menthol does not vape very well at low power and will gunk the coil - I personally do not like the coils this tank uses - to me the flavour is always tainted but each to their own. If it was me - and it has already been mentioned, get another juice to try - 50/50 is best.
Gently - I was not sleeping - it is an age thing - I had to think for a wee while as to how to use the keyboard - I had forgotten[Image: biggrin.gif]
