Just adding pictures for now. I'll try to take more as I flit into and out of the garage,  this is possibly my favorite set up for now, I cant wait to recoil and wick this tank.

I will say that despite looking unwieldy with the 18650 tube on, its still very comfortable to use and offers a variety ofhhandholds.  It also catches the eye of anyone whos seen it, I don't know what it is, but this is one damned compelling mod.

That's not too bad in 18650 mode I have to be honest. I was expecting it to be too long in 18650 mode but that is more than acceptable. Nice one

That's the external detail pictures. I'll do a strip down next time I get chance.

Its fine in 18650 mode, particularly with the pipe stem added. I like it a lot.

Very nice!  Not as long looking in 18650 mode as I expected it to be but I'm still not sure I like it much that way.  In 18350 mode I still think it's damn hot!  I'd probably run mine (if I had one) in 18350 mode with a protank and bent pipe tip.  To me it's appeal lies in 18350 mode.  18650 looks like an afterthought.

I'm jealous! Tongue

18650 IS an after thought lol, its an astro tube. I think it should have been made a telescopic like the private v2 is so you could ballance up the tubes.

I wouldn't bother with a protank.  The kayfun is a million miles better imo and a pro tank would look daft sitting on that 22mm 510 connector.

RE: hammer by kato clone with kayfun.
Ok, ive been using this a lot. I'm going to carry out what us in the torch world call a zero resistance mod.

The 510 connector consists of a 23mm disk

Pressed into this disk is a plastic housing with two brass top hat forms that will be familiar to any torch geek. These are pushed apart by a spring, it looks like they took the spring out of a clicky pen.....

The two opposing top hats give you and adjustable 510 on one side with the spring in between them and the other side contacting the isolated brass housing that makes the positive connection (pictures will make this clear.

My plan is to thread the spring onto some stripped copper wire capable of carrying 30+amps over a twenty milimeter distance,  then solder the wire into the two top hats, the spring will them purely provide clamping force and not carry any current,  hopefully this'll help, a stronger spring would be ideal but I would still do the zero resistance mod myself.

RE: hammer by kato clone with kayfun.
Just a thought.

Might the resistance be intentional? Just to tame really silly currents from shorted atomisers?

I've never been keen on the idea of springs as fuses though.

Just checked with FT to discover that mine has shipped yesterday. I'll be interested to hear how the resistance mod works out.
