box mod ideas thread
Ok, so spas has his chod, which I think is a great mod.

What ideas have you got for hosts? Ive been looking on ebay at jewellery boxes, trinket boxes, dominos boxes etc. Anyone got any ideas? Thoughts on dimensions? Lid type?

My plan is to build a dna20 box mod, although the principles can all be applied to the 2526? Variable voltage board mods, pass through' s, wired direct drive mods, heck with some creativity even wood based mech mods.

Hopefully we can come up with some rough plans and guides to give ideas for people to have a go at.

Hope anyone can help. Cheers.

Just to give some idea's.

I found this

I have a sort of picture in my head and may end up building something or contacting one of the carpenters I've found.

Part of my problem is I want to use either a 32650 or a 26700 as a power source, this will be a stay at home mod rather than an out and about mod.

I'd also prefer to avoid a basic plastic box, although by all means share up any links for others to follow, including build threads etc.

Altoids boxes work great. Also I have a few extra boxes laying around, 510 threaded atomizer connections and momentary stitches.

No doubt. I wish you could.

I used to put these together and I sold hundreds of them. But with the advent of 15 dollar 18650 tube mods they are kinda obsolete although I do make a few up once in a while and give them to friends I sold them with two batteries and a charger for $25. I made most of my money selling juice. I just got tired of keeping up with it.

Great idea for a thread Graham! I need to get my act together on some designs as the Chod style mods have all but ground to a halt at this moment.

I'll let you know any ideas that spring to mind this end.

Well thanks to Don,  I now have a dna20,  usb charging board and other supplies on the way, now I just need an enclosure.  I may just go ahead and order one of those book style boxes. They have a certain apeal to me for some reason.

I suspect they are going to need some hogging out internally - the dimensions seem to be external ones and the "covers" are pretty big.

RE: box mod ideas thread
Some of the ones I found also had internal dimensions, there were a few that had space aplenty for a 32650. A dominoes case would definitely work, the book style box has similar dimensions to a damm good hardback, failing that, maybe I should look at building a gripper style brass bound extended ovoid shape , a wide side for the cell and a narrower side to contain the electronics. Hmmmmmm. I should probably wait till I have the bits in hand and go from there.

I could also get a block of aluminium and mill out a frame, then dress it with oak and brass, but not everyone has access to lathes and vertical millers.

I kind of like this

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewite...0776791443

The internal dimensions are good, it maybe a touch big on the outside,  I may mock something up to try.

Looks good. 2-3 18650s in the bottom and circuitry in the lid?
