aqua rba overview/build
Ok, so at weekend I finally got myself an aqua clone. Its been on my list since first learning about them.

Basically its a dual coil, bottom coil atomiser with adjustable juice control and adjustable air control (ish, you can close it down but soon get it wide open, its great for lung hits). It needs to be noted that it is a 21mm device, primarily designed to hybrid on the origen mod, a future purchase for me for definite now).

Here it is stripped and ready for rewicking, mounted on my nemesis clone.

I'll cover the build for now as I'm using it as a 510 device, I'll add the hybrid set up on the end as I can sort of use it on my kultura.

So, the deck. As its got fixed bottom fed air holes its always going to be dual coil. Remember, two coils halves the resistance, so if you want a 1ohm build, you need two, 2ohm coils.

As you can see, the posts are secured with thumb screws, and there are four wick slots, its made for silica, which for me, means cotton and micro coils everytime. This build is .9ohm, I'm thinking it can go much lower, which really interests the lunatic in me.

Here are the wicks ready for trimming and seating.

Yes, they are long and scruffy, but they pull freely through the coils, which is the important bit, the scissors and a little juice, will sort things out.

As you can see here, I've dropped the coils a little to see if it makes any difference, I will put another tank through and report back

Here's the wicks wetted down, ready for the chamber to be fitted.

As you can see, I put them right down to the bottom of the slots this time, last time they were halfway up and wicked fine with no flooding. You can also see that whith the chamber screwed fully in you still get juice fed to the wicks, cotton wicks far better than most silica I've used so I've not needed to use this feature yet.

Here's the chamber on. Along with one of the two supplied drip tips (all my drip tips fit, but I quite like this one tbh).

And here it is filled and ready to vape. Its a clever design, the tank is the airflow control. You screw it fully down, fill to the bottom of the threads, start the top cap on the top threads, then invert, let the juice flow down and screw the top cap home, then, holding the drip tip down to prevent the chamber opening, you screw the tank back up to reveal the airholes in the base, it only needs cracking to give a regular airflow, I like it wide open so I open the tank till their fully revealed.

Thanks for reading. I'll add any thoughts on the hybrid mode once I get an origen.

That's a really cool looking design. I'm interested to see how low you can go without wicking issues.

Thanks for the write up, definitely made sense of what otherwise I would be staring blankly at Big Grin

Cheers

It wicks fine at .9ohm, and you can always open the juice control if you need more in, I might throw a twisted build in it next.....

Ok now that one I'm digging a lot. I'm not usually a fan of bottom coils but primarily because of the air flow issues. If I can't lung hit I'm not a happy camper.

Thanks for the write up and great pics. I'm looking forward to future posts. Really think I'm going to buy one of these.

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

One of the guys on potv was kind enough to add some pictures of his aqua clone hybrid mode on an origin clone in brass or stainless.

I need that. I can lung hit this easily, the taifun can also have a 1.8mm airhole, the tube is replaceable or removable

Quick video of it in action

Another hybrid soon to be in the collection. Just need my 3 orders en route to arrive, and find a suitable mod. I'm assuming it's 20x1 threads?

RE: aqua rba overview/build
Ok.

One thing that was bugging me. I kept getting a gurgle, I had a little time today where I had to look busy without being busy so I had a look.

The gurgle is caused by juice collecting in the well between the top of the chamber and the drip tip. The drip tip hole on the 510 end is much smaller than the bore of the chamber.........

Remove oring, CAREFULLY grip drip tip in mole grips, carefully run a 5mm drill through the whole drip tip, countersink both ends then clean up the edges with sandpaper/wire wool, give it a good wash under the tap to remove any swarf.

Refit o ring, job done, no more juice collecting, no more gurgles, its now even better for lung hits.

I get my origin clone on Saturday and I just cant wait now, its likely to be my favourite mech set up for out and about convenience, performs like a good dripper and enough capacity for a few hours sole use without topping up.

I have a real aqua. I love it for when I drive but I'm a dripper at heart. I have my aqua up for sell or trade on Craigslist. I have ran my Aqua on my nemesis and my atom. Atom has gold contacts and make the Aqua hit like a breast.
