RE: anyone tried taking tailcap readings yet?
I'm getting a good 24hrs worth of vaping before I slap the cell in the charger, thats with a 1.4ohm dual coil dripper on my little mech mod, it may not have needed charging but I figured why not? better safe than sorry and I'm pretty much chain vaping when driving now lol, I wouldn't want to try and do a day on one 18350, I'm perfectly happy with the size of my two mech mods in 18650 mode.

I'm definitely going to try a sub ohm dual coil set up on one of them soon, hopefully it'll put me off cloud chasing but I kind of doubt it........

LOL funny how we end up chasing clouds. I'm exactly the same so much so that I've started with lung draws to get that bigger cloud Big Grin

Good to know how log a decent cell holds up too. It's not every day you come across info like that so it's extremely handy to read these things.

*post alert!* gords drill 2x 1.5mm holes into his Igo-W with .3 ohm quad coils and chain vapes 30ml in a day!! Big Grin

RE: anyone tried taking tailcap readings yet?
I opened out the airhole to 1.5mm within an hour of trying it tbh, but it is dual coil and common sense says it should have two air holes. The guy I bought it off uses two 3mm air holes in his lol.

In all seriousness though, I'm hoping to get into the gords cave tonight and rebuild both the scar and the igo-w, I was thinking the scar could breathe a little better than it does, I've also been pondering jb weld and its use in chamber reduction. ......

I am actually considering micro coils and cotton wool, that micro coil on tge dream works awesome abd its up at 4.1ohm, I can't wait to try a pair at about an ohm.

It'll be interesting to see what you come up with regarding the scar Graham. I've seen a few vids on the Octopus (single coil version) where they've drilled holes in the side to help compliment the airflow from under the coils.

Alternatively there's the option to drill through the bottom and introduce an interference fit brass tube up to the underside of the coils and feed air from underneath the atty.

Let us know what you come up with Smile

im a tad nervous about drilling the scar. have a look at the air inlet and vents and you'll see why, its not that tight to be fair either. perhaps I could just mod a colander into a top cap lol

RE: anyone tried taking tailcap readings yet?
ok, scar and igo-w rebuilt, scar came in at 1.3ohm dual coil, I over wicked it at first so I've just had to trim them back, it tested at 2.8a on the tail.

igo-w, I did try to add another 1.5mm hole opposite the first but my cheap crappy drill bits wont touch the stainless, I did open the existing airhole out to 2mm, this may have been a mistake lol, it too came out at 1.3ohm using my fluke, no tail reading to compare, I also didn't check cell voltage, this could be a bit low now as it got hammered while I was stuck in traffic for four hours tjis afternoon.

I'll do more testing tomorrow, I dare not use the igo in the living room now......its rather noisy and mrs gords likes to be able to see the tv lol

Nice one buddy, I'm not sure what you think but the scar works well when you get it setup properly. Quite a tight draw though compared with the nimbus and even my Igo-L now I've opened the hole a little.

It bemuses me why on earth there's only one hole in the Igo-W, that just doesn't make any sense to me. I think once you manage to get that other hole drilled out you'll see a world of difference in the quality of the vape and you'll definitely be banished to the cave with that one Big Grin

RE: anyone tried taking tailcap readings yet?
I'm actually thinking of jb welding the hole then re drilling it 1.5mm tbh, its very noisy and airy now, it vaped nicely at 1.5mm.

the scar is doing well, though it get hot dammed quick now, I'd over wicked it and killed the air flow, trimming them back seems to have done the trick.

I still prefer my dream atomiser with that micro coil in, bigger clouds, smoother cooler vape, less refilling AND its kinder on the cells as their seeing 4ohm rather than 1 ish ohm, I'm going to see how successful it is on a mech mod, I might be kidding myself by turning up the wattage. .....

RE: anyone tried taking tailcap readings yet?
Ok, gave the igo-w some use last night, no test data as we had a heavy storm last night.

I'm going to rename it the philippino......clouds of vapour, toni wanted to put a light house on the tv lol

It doesn't need a heavy draw simply because it is so airy, it also hammers through eliquid.

I like it......I like it a lotBig Grin
