Why are Smok coils so damn bad!?
I have owned multiple tanks in my time of vaping, and Smok have always been up their with my favourites for their innovations and crazy contraptions. However, unlike other tanks, their coils suck!
With an average Aspire tank, a coil will last me atleast a month without needing to change coils although after 1/2 weeks the flavour starts decreasing. This is with an average 3ml high VG liquid a day.
My recent (ish) purchase of the TFV12 from Smok is amazing for clouds and is why I use around 4ml of juice a day with it. Now the 2 coils which came included were perfect and handled the advertised 200+ watts like a charm, lasting as long as other tanks. However, spare coils purchased extra cannot handle 100w plus without a horrible burnt taste.
Whatever I try: priming overnight, gently building up watts, pre-puffs. Nothing works. And before anyone says, yes, the coils are 100% authentic as are purchased directly from Smok.
Why do the coils do this?

I suspect smok has contracted out replacement coils , they were at one time far better

Dogs have owners , Cats have staff .

RE: Why are Smok coils so damn bad!?
Production runs must go into the millions and run 24 hrs a day, if the assembly machines go out of tolerance there could be several thousand coils with issues before QC test a batch and spot it. Even without that Imo the tolerances would be pretty big given the type of product and low production costs, the end result will be an inconsistent product at best.
I guess they're doing they're best to stay on top of supply and demand, multiple products sold worldwide can't be easy logistics Confused

Sucks for the consumer though! Rta ftw Big Grin

I understand that some bad batches may occur, but I guess its just my luck to get 3 bad packs out of 3 lol. Might have to switch back to RTA/RDA's then Big Grin

Best big tank that blows clouds imo is the Sense Blazer pro. Their replacement coils look like an rba section and the flavor is very good. Buddy has one and I also want one. It will be my next prebuilt tank. I own the baby and big baby and it is hit or miss with their coils imo. Some last 2 weeks some 2 days. I just find the cheapest deal i can on ebay now.

Have you had any experience with the Vaporesso NRG tank? I believe it is the most similar to the Smok tanks out of all of the top brands and was thinking of getting one

The best new tank is the Athos. The one that comes with the Aspire Speeder. Honestly. It is really nice and well priced ... better than any smok product. I love Aspire products. I've only had an issue with the Nautilus x - quality was good but the design just did not cut the muster. Coils on Aspire products are always good too. Anyone who knows me knows I never recommend a thing without a test and a good look.

Personally I like my Baby Beast, but I could just be lucky. I also really liked my iSticks fwiw. But nothing compares to an RDTA imho.

Everyone knows how I feel about SMOK coils...the only ones that are good come with the tank when you buy it. Every replacement coil I've ever bought has sucked and died in 3 days max. Be it from the b and m, online, from a friend. But hey, their coils dying so fast and costing so much sent me into the loving arms of RDA's....So thanks SMOK

Made me feel better about myself that it isn't just me who gets sucky replacements. But also bad that I won't ever be able to get good new coils :/
