The problem with Sony cells is that most of the things labelled as such are fakes.

You have to be careful when buying alleged Sony cells.

How can you tell the fakes from the genuine?

There are several sites out there that give guidance.

Personally I only buy from folks I trust who I know to test their cells.

I'm sorry but I don't know about good sellers in the US.

I avoid the problem by not buying Sony cells.

There are some youtube videos on how to tell fakes from genuine, sadly that is far too late as you have already purchased them and now must deal with exchange/refunds and the associated hassles. Buying online I tend to buy only from either a reputable online vape shop (that will honor customer service); from Amazon as they have a solid customer service mandate but also from one of the cell only vendors. A few common ones I know of are: Battery Space; liionwholesale.com; batteryjunction
