I'm kind of lusting after this tank right now. Do the screws on the side posts feature Phillips heads, or just the top? Do your wick tails have to get all the way down to the bottom of the tank to wick as the fluid level drops? I haven't ever seen anyone use one that wasn't full.

Just the top are Phillips. Never put wick tails all the way down. Maybe a third the way down. I never even fill mine. I use it as a RDA that never leaks, lol.

Thank you for answering. I guess I didn't consider that most folks tilt their device when they draw, which I guess would help dip the wick as the juice level drops.

Have you tried it in single-coil mode with the shim?

I use dual coils on it as an RDA. In fact I never even opened the plastic baggy. I did notice the screwdriver was black - not blue, lol, and it had a 510 adapter but I never took the parts out to examine them. No need. I just pulled out the two pre-made coils which surprisingly were tight and clean.

I'm assuming the air-flow is creating low pressure over the wells and flooding the tank slightly. When you wick, do your tails go entirely into the holes, or do you also spread some around the perimeter of the deck etc? Can you cover the channel up top without fouling the threads?

Thanks,
Egg
Fan the wicking out to touch the airflow holes, but don't stick any wicking into the holes. With thinner juices, I would think limiting the juice flow would help with any gurgling. The Supreme does have that option (which needs to be closed fully for filling), Best way to prevent it would be to use 70/30 or higher VG juice in the first place, but limiting the flow should solve it too. I have not had flooding or gurgling issues with my Supreme yet, BTW.

What did you mean by "Can you cover the channel up top without fouling the threads?"?

Thanks, Tin. I'm probably moving towards using high VG blends exclusively, but currently also have a ton of 50/50.

My mistake. I didn't have it in front of me when I wrote that, and I was thinking it was possible to dangle the wick over the deck directly into the juice well on the base. I'll fool with it again later today - if it works for everyone else, I probably just have to refine my wicking.

RE: Which RTA should I get? updated july 16/16
The thing about RTA's that I find to be very different from RDA's is the wicking. It needs to be more precise. Too much or too little on an RDA may make for a less satisfying vape, a dry hit, etc., but it is the difference between leaking or not on RTA's a lot of the time. As a newer vaper, when I was trying to learn how to build the RTA deck on my Zephryus, I could never get that sweet spot figured out and it leaked like a stuck pig and drove me nuts. It was a combination of excessive greenery coupled with a small build deck with zero room for error. The Supreme has a very generous build deck so it is easier to get it right, but it is still definitely a small window that you need to fit in.

I use my tank with 3mm rda coils and wick with ease, ~5mm of cotton sticking out either end of the coil and screw it all together. Clouds bro Shy

With the Aromamizer Supreme, I don't get any gurgling. I wick mine by folding the wick back down under the coils covering the deck with a bit of overlap. It's enough cotton to form like a circle. So cover the deck but leave a space inder the coils so airflow can go through between the coils. Sit the coils as high as the post tops. Close the JFC about half way. Enjoy.

Got the Supreme working great, now, using max vg. Opted for simple Kanthal A1 coils, as my mod was really struggling to push a pair of smallish claptons at ~.15 ohms and I can't fit large ones. I will probably try some vertical claptons at a later date, but for now... man, this thing is amazing. Blows the socks off the TF-RDTA. The Supreme is better in every way, although it does sound like a tea kettle with the air flow set very low. More power, more air, and more clouds are an easy fix for that, though.

Cheers,
Egg

Yes Egg, coming up from the V1, that Supreme is really something. I was blown away by the improvements they made. And top fill never hurts.
