RE: What other hobbies do you folks have?
I consider myself an excellent guitar player, and a decent bass player. But where I really excel is getting good tones for both bass and guitar. There's an art form to setting the bass, treble, gain, effects, etc, and I believe I've nearly mastered it. A huge confidence boost came a few weeks ago when the guy who runs the sound board at my church told me I had the absolute best bass tone he'd ever heard, and this is coming from a guy who runs sound for major concerts (major as in, Skillet, Three Days Grace, Buddy Guy, John Mayer, etc) for a living. Of course, I'm sure there are many guitar players who are far better than me. But I like to think I'm great, because confidence is a good thing. The only guitar player better than me that I can think of off the top of my head is Jimmy Page.

I used to play video games competitively, mainly League of Legends. I wasn't good enough to make a real professional team, but I ranked very VERY highly among amateur players, literally just a few people away from getting chosen to play on a pro team. These days I don't really do much of anything competitively, it kind of takes away the fun of it for me.

Oh, and I'm really good in the kitchen. It makes my wife really mad actually, because she hasn't spent as much of her life cooking for herself so she's not familiar with all the little tips and tricks yet and I make it look easy. I don't follow recipes, I cook based on what I think will work well, and it always does. I can't remember the last time I made anything that tasted bad, actually. My best area is Italian food, but I also make a mean steak, and breakfast foods are always great. I'm also a decent bartender, though I've never quite figured out how to make a perfect Old Fashioned (yet).

It's amazing how hobbies can become a lifestyle. Jeeping is kinda like that. It's more about the people and friendships that develop.

Now you made me miss my jeep again since I traded it in for a charger back in April... Confused
2010 and 2013 modded up, banged up, off roaded and lots of good jeeple met along the way.
Where you from Don?

A Charger? You mean a 4 door car? Or a real one, from the Muscle era?

Smart ass...2015 Charger...4 door....My wife and I like to travel a lot and sometimes bring the kids Sarcastic_hand After a few drives to New Orleans and Myrtle Beach with the Jeep I just got tired of the mileage and drag and missed the speed and comfort of a car...plus I spent a lot of money on mods and those big tires are not gas and speed friendly

Chargers are nice. My daughter wants one. And I know they make higher HP versions. But I'm old school about muscle. And back in my day, a 4 door anything was made for grandma. So I still carry that attitude. We just called then "four f***ing doors", no matter what they were.

Did you have a real JEEP, or the kind my sister got when she had a kid, with all the safety bells and whistles and leather everything that has to be kept in the garage?

My youngest daughter plays too. She's only a year or so in so she's still learning. But I got her an MIM Strat for her birthday, and that sealed her fate. She wears a Fender shirt all the time.

Not a beater because I needed a DD. First was a sahara, no leather or navigation just a dual top because I wanted both. Second was a sport because I knew better than paying for extras I was going to replace anyway Good

Both got rained on without being buttoned up and many mornings waking up to thunder and running outside to set a speed record for getting the top and doors back on!

Did like the 2013 engine better than 2010 but goddamn they made the doors SO much heavier.

I was looking at the Camaro but decided with 3 kids getting them into the back of a 2 door and having to move the seats every time it would have just been too much of a PITA.

Ha, Camaro. Never had an interest in those. I was a 442/Torino guy. Still am, but don't have either anymore.
