I looked at it. Then spent half the money on version 1

For my style of vaping the advanced chip makes little or no difference.

Considered the topside. My B+M has the newer version. Instead I am opting for a DDP Trio with a Calix on top. Would be expensive but these are refurbs so about half the normal price.

Makes sense. They appear to look identical after all.

The switch design appears like it might be similar to the Poldiac. I hope it is way, way better. While the Poldiac design is theoretically very good, the manufacturing tolerances have to be extremely tight. In my (clone) one the tolerances were wildly inadequate. Resulting in an unusable mod.

DDP Mech. Mod - over £400 for a mech is extortion.

Not that much for the Trio. New it's 320 Can. The Calix new is 135 Can. So total for both 455 Cn. I got them half price. Also the Trio is three seperate tubes ... not silly extensions. And side fire. Been vaping it for the last hour in 18350 mode.

As far as mechs go there is alot to be said for quality machining , but hat does not necessarily warrant several hunred dollars . I would imagine if one had access to and the abillity to use the tools they could build a very high quality tube mech for less than 20 usd , but that's not mass production and does not reqire an R&D team a quality controll staff or manufacturer insurance

Dogs have owners , Cats have staff .

Indeed. The authentic Poldiac was a pretty nice. The thing with these mechs is knowing how to set them up. The 510 is counter clockwise threaded and you need to adjust pin manually for it to fire. So you need to be careful putting and removing your atties. I use a top fill RTA (so I don't have to remove it) and the Calix is pressure fitted top fill with great juice control.

The Poldiac design was just janky. I gort mine working but it was a bit of a pain. The DDP is much nicer IMHO. But yes - there are similarities. Poldiac also had separate tubes for 18350 and 18650.

Look, stabwood mods cost way more than they should. DNAs are way overpriced. This is just comparing current manufacturing cost to retail. However, research, warranty, advertising, marketing and all sorts of overhead all need to be considered.

A mod is worth what people will pay. Gepettos go for 1500 plis. Frakenskulls are a fortune. A Meb atty with accessories can run 1000. This appleies to any industry. You can pay 500, 000 for a car or 8,000 for a car.
