Unless you are mixing with Apple Crumble.

Keep it away from oxygen and it never comes good.

RE: What have you got on order ?
I'll prob just use it for mixing the pg/vg then I normally mix that first anyway and add it to the flavour in the bottles Good

You're money's best spent on a sous vide cooker and an ultrasonic cleaner, if the goal is to more quickly mature juices. I get weeks of steeping done in hours at the moment.

Already got both of them mainly when i heard Don on about the apple crumble and how fast it works Smile It wasn't for steeping faster mainly just mixing the pg/vg faster then instead of shaking the bottles for a few mins just giving them a few seconds with the mixer before putting the caps on

In that case, heat them to 60c before you do the frothing. I still say oxygenating the mix is an undesired function, but since you're willing to do it, you can be the guinea piggy and let us know how you get on with it. (60c is the temp point where VG yields and becomes friendly to the other substances in the mix, and the blending will happen much more easily)

Yeah I'll be just mixing the vg/pg with the mixer but that's an idea as I mix the pg/vg in bulk (2l at a time) the thing that made me think it was better was the pain it was mixing them in the winter when it's a lot cooler it seemed to take ages lol

RE: What have you got on order ?
I know, it's complicated... but if you mix only the VG and PG together, you will not get any maturational benefits when you later make a recipe because the VG will have cooled again and will be just as resistant to blending chemically as it was in the first place. It will have mostly joined in holy matrimony with the PG, but will arrogantly thumb its' nose to the flavorings for weeks unless it is at 60c (from a speed maturation perspective).

RE: What have you got on order ?
I see what you're getting at now they should all be mixed at the same time with the flavour as well, I've been mixing the pg/vg first in bulk then adding the flavour but before I add it I do stir the pg/vg before putting it into smaller bottles with the flavour, Maybe I do 3 bottles before I stir again lol It's prob why my juice has been tasting better over weeks/months i just thought it was down to steeping

RE: What have you got on order ?
You can mix them the way you have been. of course. They will just have to mature over time without help, as they've been doing. If the mix is heated to 60c and shaken aggressively several times in a few hours, with time in the USC as well, you can get about 85-90% fully matured juice over the course of a few hours rather than weeks or a month. I am also a big proponent of not adding nic until you are ready to consume the juice (and definitely not when heating to 60c) because the clock starts to tick as soon as the nic is added, as they say. But Don seems to not see adverse results and I think he heats the nic at the time of the mixing though.

RE: What have you got on order ?
I've done it with and without.

I agree with the argument about not adding it till after heat treatment though.

Since SR doesn't do nic, this is not an issue for him.

Most of the darkening of juice is oxidation of the nic, it goes a pink colour then darkens and darkens till the juice is nearly black.

The Solubarome vanilla darkens a little with time, from a very pale straw colour to the colour of proper English bitter. Often called amber but more a lightish brown. They say a picture is worth a thousand words but the camera is charging just now and I'm rendering video so not just yet.
