My bread maker has arrived. Now for some fun over the W/E.

One thing to remember is that bread flour has a fairly short shelf life and gets a horrible bitter aftertaste if used after the best before date. Wholemeal flour tends to make an extremely dense bread and is quite strongly flavoured. Best to start with one of the basic recipes first then modify to suit.

Bread freezes well so if you have any space in your freezer you can store bread in it. Bread slices best a day or two after it is baked. But I usually find it difficult not to slice some off and eat it when it’s still hot.

You can bing just about anything into a loaf. I’ve used chopped hard boiled eggs, bacon, thinly sliced sausages and all sorts of things.

Just had a quick scan of it and they are cheap through alot of pods! lol will prob put an order in for a few bits later on when i get back tonight
