I think that is a fair prediction for 2019. It may or may not have US patents, but we know what the Chinese market thinks of other's laws. I suspect we will see more than one new top-fill squonker come along.

RE: What did you get today?
A rather larger than expected sous vide unit (I think) arrived. It arrived just as I was heading back to work having dropped off the Assistant for the afternoon. I've not yet opened the bag it came in, but AFAIK it is the only thing I'm expecting.

Playing tonight. Smile

RE: What did you get today?
Now being tested in the washing up bowl. With a litre of Apple Crumble mixed at the end of October.

The ultrasonic + heat treatment did speed mature the test amounts.

Now trying about 900ml which I'm going to hold at 60C overnight and check in the morning.

The ultrasonic treatment didn't noticeably darken the juice (18mg) so I'll be interested to see how the sous vide treatment (In an oxygen permeable (AKA plastic) bottle) fares that way.

Then I'll make a few testers and give them the hot bath treatment overnight.

I do worry about the plastic bottles, I was afraid to use them and got glass for the 60c treatment.

Here's a pic. As I'm about to cook my tea, I'll keep an eye on it for a while.

RE: What did you get today?
I can rustle up glass litre bottles if necessary. But 60C ought to be fine.

PET would be marginal at 60C but HDPE is made of sterner stuff. It should be OK to over boiling point.

That is an HDPE bottle.

Really nice to see that you've seen speed methods make a difference. I don't feel as crazy anymore.

RE: What did you get today?
I suspect that heat had more to do with it than the ultrasonic treatment. But who knows?

4 months in two weeks is not to be sneezed at. 3-4 weeks of steeping is one thing, 6 months entirely another.
