RE: What did you get today?
The Folomov A4 charger showed up. I'll get pics and stuff tonight. Meanwhile the Assistant has crossed legs so I'd better take him out.

RE: What did you get today?
The charger arrived. And got unboxed. With bonus Assistant head. He firmly believes that all rustling plastic means he is about to get food.

Trying some button top D NiCd cells. Most lithium cells will have larger + contacts so ought to work in it - these crappy cells have the positive contact too small and too high to work properly.

Trying the cells I had lying around. At the moment it is charging the NiMH cells from the camera.

RE: What did you get today?
I like the big, clear display. This doesn't do anything fancy but can charge two cells at a time at 3A each or four cells at 2A each. This can be handy if you are in a hurry. It seems to stop dead at 4.20V once the current has dropped to around 10% of the initial rate. With most chargers you'll get a little more in if you then restart charging at a lower rate. I'll need to stick meters across the cells to see what actual voltage they are at when charging finishes.

With NiMH it stops at 1.50V, a couple of hours of trickle charging after that would be nice but isn't vital. The camera that took the videos runs on AA NiMH cells (Of which I have a lot, probably over 100) and was down to about 3%. It charged those to 1.5V at 1A pretty quickly. I know that on other chargers they come off at 1.54 or so volts. I'll need to measure actual capacity I can get out of the cells afterwards for comparison.

Unfortunately just now I can't find my favourite analysing (dis)charger for lithium cells, I have at least three which will do this for NiMH cells. Once I find it, I'll set to work seeing how fully various chargers charge various newish 18650s.

It will. The SkyRC is probably the best charger out there for round cells. And costs accordingly. I'd like to hear how you get on with it. It has a lot of features that would be very nice for cell testing and charger testing. Especially the ability to log data which means you can just connect it up and walk away.

I want one of those! Especially as it now seems to be £50 cheaper than the last time I looked.

RE: What did you get today?
Just arrived: 5l of PG and a bunch of 250, 100, & 50ml bottles.

I’d forgotten about that as I sort of expect China type shipping times from everyone except Amazon. Lucemill are pretty quick as their factory/warehouse is only three hours away.
