RE: What did you get today?
Along with my 24v charger (for the deep cycle marine batteries), I have this, a 5 pack of 18650 powered flashlights (torches for you E's). They may not be awesome but a good use for old cells.

RE: What did you get today?
Somewhere I have a calibrated cardboard box where I can test such things.

1500 lumens they aren't. Or even half that most likely. And a quarter of that at full zoom.

Useful they can be. And for the price....

There are several folks where who can bore you to death on the topic. I have written reviews of a lot of lights in my time.

For most purposes most of the time, 1500 lumens is too much anyway...

I have a lot of old unused vape cells laying around (in cases, correct cases). They charge full but discharge rapidly anymore. I planned to recycle them but figured, they may not work for vaping anymore but should get on with a torch well enough. They're all LGHG2. Sound OK?

RE: What did you get today?
I would say that was sensible - no real stress on torch batteries - unlike vaping.

Good lord, bright! Never had a torch this bright. Just about burnt out my retina.

RE: What did you get today?
I have several that can actually do 1500 lumens. You'll look into them when lit once.

LEDs have come a long way. I have 5 100W LEDs lying around to make a floodlight. Conservatively that's probably 50,000 lumens.

Which is grossly excessive for the intended job.

One of them run at 40-50W should still produce excessive light and not turn from a diode to a fry-ode. I have a 2kg chunk of copper to mount it/them to.

When I get around to it.

RE: What did you get today?
I just ordered a Cometa - turns out Banggood had some in their UK warehouse.

I| have a couple of beer can bodied lights, really don't feel the need for any more. Only my second light of the year, the first was a Maker headlamp which is quite nice.
