See TW - I told you - it is hard to upset the Welsh - they have become quite immune to that sort of thing over the years[Image: smile.gif].

You would with fuel prices what they are here. Diesel is running about $1.80 a litre.

Remember a UK gallon is 4.54 litres - about 20% larger than a US gallon which is around 3.8 litres if I remember correctly.

Congrats Rob - that's a nice car - my princess had one until it was rear-ended and she got an Elantra as a replacement...that Accent of hers could go 1000kms on a tank of fuel....and it was only like 25 litres.... Tongue I'm lucky if I get 550 kms on 60 litres on my Cherokee....wish I could get one with the steering wheel on the wrong side! Tongue

Hyundai used to be a lower class car here in the states, but over the last few years they really stepped up their game. Check out the Genesis for starters.
When my Tiburon GT was in the shop for recalls, they loaned me a new Hyundai Elantra Sport I think, maybe it was a GT. Completely loaded, very comfortable car, I think it was something like 265hp out of a 4 banger. Retail price was something like $32k

RE: What did you get today?
Well, maybe I should look at the newer models before I mouth off about a brand anymore. Hyundai was nearly a joke when they were first new and I guess that soiled my opinion of them. But you can't really contradict owners saying how nice they are, so pass the ketchup, I have some crow to eat.

RE: What did you get today?
Because it is a completely buyers market no manufacturer can afford to bring out a poor car. Hiyundai have a bit of a reputation in Europe now for having really comfortable seats, one of my friends has one and loves it. They have some really smart looking cars on the road now.

Edit - My friend has the car - not just the seat[Image: tongue.gif]

The person I share an office with drives a 12 year old and huge (By UK standards, it's smaller than an F15o but then so is just about every car in the EU) Hyundai SUV. The spec level is very high for the price, the seats might well be comfortable if the car wasn't so full of "stuff". You usually have to displace your own volume of crap in order to sit in it.

RE: What did you get today?
I always look for value for money so when I was investigating getting a new car the Hyundai i30 tourer came close to the top of the list. £ for £ other makes I looked at Ford, Vauxhall[GM] Audi and Jaguar were all very nice but to have the same spec the difference in price ranged from 3k to 10k. In the end my head ruled my heart Smile

RE: What did you get today?
I agree with TW, when Hyundai arrived in NA it introduced the Pony - a joke import that left most buyers annoyed to say the least - similar to the intro of the YUGO some years earlier - then after a short disappearing act they came back with the new Accent and those things were break-proof! They were like $10G nicely loaded and ran on a thimble of fuel....

RE: What did you get today?
My 03 tiburon was a great car. I'd say it was probably about the time they started upping their game. Was very comfortable. Not quite up to the same level as the Saab 900se turbo or my VW Passat v6 4motion. But was very nice, comfortable and biggest, neve tleft me stranded once. Didn't have the power heated seats, real fancy interior or any other features that you never see, but seats were comfortable, infinity sound system, plenty of power, any they stood behind their product.
I think it was 2015, I bought the car and a lower control arm broke the first day. Found out they did a volentary recall. I got both front lower control arms, a new front subframe, and rear links, all dealer installed for free on a 12 year old car. And, they gave me a $30k+ car for loan for 2 weeks or so.
I was more than impressed with Hyundai with that alone
