Hi Skyray - I am old and my hands get cold a lot easier than they used to. When they are numb I cannot tie knots or change flies and having your hands always wet doesn't help.[Image: sad.gif]

You shouldn't be dry fly fishing when its cold its a sport for the warm spring/summer months when the flies are out and about and the fish rising Smile I must admit its the most spectacular ways of fly fishing i love seeing the trout take the flies on the surface it took me a while to get the knack of hooking them this way totally different to any other way of fly fishing Smile

RE: What did you get today?
I have caught fish on the dry fly every month of the year - midge hatch all year round and there are always beetles about. The trout were rainbows right enough in a fishery - I have not been fishing out of the normal season now for a few years - too old for the cold weather[Image: smile.gif].

The cooler weather months i tend to use sinking lines and wet flies and lures,

I have never fished sub-surface for over 10 years - I just like to see the fish rise to the fly.[Image: smile.gif]

I stay dry too. Why would you need to fish sub-surface. You can't even breathe without a tank.

RE: What did you get today?
Today I got a new battery.  Not a fancy thing that you can adjust the everythings on.  A simple 5 clicks on, 5 clicks off press and vape battery.  Luckily I can still use my atomiser on it.
