RE: What did you get today?
I keep it for special occasions - the sort of times one used to have a cigar.

But.

I've always hated cigars, I end up inhaling them hard and coughing up everything from between my hair and my toenails...

I built a 2mm(ish) coil from 0.6mm Kanthal, used the 1mm silica that came with it cut to the diameter of the deck as per the recommendations for the real Squape. This doesn't seem to be ideal as I'm getting a bit of leakage. The real Squape is supposed to get two thicknesses of 3mm silica cut off at the edges of the deck. If I can stuff 2 lengths of 3mm through the coil (Which is pretty rigid) I'll run one a little bit down the juice channels. As long as that wicks OK, it should deal with any leakage issues. I hope.

Flavour is good but the juice I'm using has a fair amount of rather strong rhubarb flavour in it so it might not be the atty. I'll put the last of Spas' tobacco extract in it once I've emptied the tank. That should be very nice.

I usually use cotton in my Squape.  After wetting it and tucking it just into the channels I trim it to the edge.  This way the cotton is sticking just into the channel opening.  This keeps it from flooding rarely getting a dry hit.  I say rarely because I have had a couple builds where the cotton was a tad too dense but a quick pull while blocking the air intake always resolved it.

I've never used silica wick in it.  Will be using cotton yarn on the new Squape build.  Compared to any of my other RBA atties the Squape is consistently simple to build properly right off the bat.

RE: What did you get today?
If it had the normal screw topped posts it would be a lot easier to build with heavy wire. I'm using 22 gauge in it. Using more sensible wire it'd be easier to build. This is my only criticism of it.

After a bit of digging around the centre 510 pin of my Vamo to bing it back up, it'll still fire on that as the Vamo says it is 1.2 ohms - there's something like 12 turns in the coil. In fact it works very well on the Vamo at 12-15W.

I've just rewicked it with 3mm silica and run it down the juice channels on the side of the deck to see if that'll sort the leaking. It still vapes just fine and no dry hits - but I tend to take quite short draws of around 3 seconds.

Nice Don... curiously is 12 turns of the 22G wire pretty slow to heat due to the high 1.2 ohms on a mech ? I should imagine it is....

If it is then that would be an ideal opportunity to try a parallel coil and keep the same area coverage but approx 1/4 of the ohms

That does look worth a try. Off to the wilds for a few days so I must remember to pack the coiling supplies. Smile

Back Monday night and will report.
