RE: What did you get today?
I love Plums, but I can see how it could overwhelm. Like bitting into a rotten plum. What a great project FB.

I can only hope he isn't going for rotten plum. I think it could be a good one, but it will be a significant challenge.

RE: What did you get today?
Just putting this in here so I remember it when I come to assembling the review of the Miboxer C2-6000.

I've just discharged four 18650s to 2.8V. One of them will get charged at 1500mA in an Opus BT-C3100 (Firmware v.2.2) as it is the highest rate of the chargers other than hobby chargers that I own.

The Miboxer can and will charge at up to 3A and manages to keep the cells cool while it does it. And without the extremely annoying fan on the Opus charger - the other reason I used it was that it can be set to discharge to 2.8V and then stop. The LiitoKala wants to charge the cells fully before discharging then charges them again. Which is less than ideal when you want four cells at 2.8V to start with.

Bulk charging is the fast bit of charging 18650s. If you are in a hurry you can just charge them at constant current till they hit 4.2V. You probably get around 80% of possible capacity by doing this.

The official method is to charge at constant current till the cell hits 4.2V, then charge at constant voltage till the charging current hits 10% of the original charge rate. This gives the full capacity of the cell without overcharging.

So now I have four cells at 2.8V under load (over 3V after a minute or two resting). The plan is to charge one at 1.5A in the Opus charger, one at 1A in the LiitoKala Engineer Lii-500 and two in the Miboxer. I want to see the charging time in the three chargers. I expect the Miboxer to handsomely beat the other two.

The cells are identical Samsung 25R 2500mAh IMR cells. All are from the same batch and have seen about the same usage. If the results get weird I'll get four new 18650s and repeat the test with them.

And so to charge. Back in an hour or three when the chargers have done their thing.

RE: What did you get today?
After 75 minutes the two 18650s in the Miboxer have taken 2350mAh and are nearly fully charged. The Opus cell has taken 1935mAh and has not yet hit 4.2V. The cell in the LiitoKala has taken 1267mAh and is at 3.89V

RE: What did you get today?
Forgot about the cells last night so I did what I always tell people not to do. They've now been on charge overnight.

LiitoKala (1A) 2222mAh 2hr 36min
Opus (1.5A) 2407mAh 2hr 33min
Miboxer 2364mAh 1hr 21min and 2234mAh 1hr 27min

I've never used lower grade kanthal than 'D', might have to get me some 'LT' to play with Good its pretty cheap compared to the A1, reflection of there being less Cr and Al in its composition.

Took a 12" lenth and built a big ass 4mm coil just to get a lock on resistance . Comes out to .87 ohms per foot , .03 lower than 22g Ncr 80
