An Ithaka clone, a Taifun GT clone and a stainless steel tank for the Taifun.

The Ithaka came coiled and wicked so it'd be a pity to waste that. Especially as I don't have any NR-R-NR wires to play with.

Ordered exactly a month before they arrived. To the minute.

Wow!  What a great haul, Don! Big Grin  Just make sure you do a good preburn on that Ithica coil before using it.  I'm looking forward to your take on it because that one's always interested me but I've always held off due to the NR-R-NR wires needed for the coil.

My Marstech Kayfun Lite  arrived today.  I can't wait to get home and play with it! Big Grin

I did as much of a pre burn as I dared given that there are smoke detectors everywhere, took it outside and looked at the pretty glow. I wanted to get that ceramic cup as hot as possible too - some people report having to torch them to get rid of funky tastes. Off to look at some setup vids now as thus far it gurgles and doesn't produce a lot of vapour. It is a complex little beastie which seems to need to breathe through its 501 just now. I'm sure it is all fixable so video hunting for me tonight.

I've not even looked at the Taifun yet - I'll probably start by setting it up as a Genesis as I can make those work.

RE: What did you get today?
Thus far, it's a fiddly bugger. It managed to catch the centre post (510 end) O ring and dead short itself. With a new 30A cell in it.

It got kinda hot. That cell is getting charged outside next time just in case.

So it got torn apart and tossed in the ultrasonic. When I get some wires I'll rewick and recoil it and try again. On the Vamo.

But since i had other new shiny to play with, the Taifun got pressed into service.

Dead easy to build, took about 10 minutes, most of which was spent finding Todd's build of it. Now working nicely on whatever mod is nearest. Only dislike is that I detest flared drip tips. However, i have a nice acrylic one to hand and a nice pipe stem one to stick on it. Should look fun on the Hammer.

RE: What did you get today?
The SS tank I got for the Taifun doesn't seem to fit the cap threads. I'll raise a ticket with FT once they're back to work.

The Taifun looks perfect on the Hammer. The only problem is the way I hold the Hammer in 18650 mode blocks the air hole every time.

I think it'd work nicely with a ribbon coil of fairly low resistance on a mech. I just used 0.2 Kanthal and several wraps (Came out at around 2.5 ohms) given the prior experience with the Ithaka.

I also discovered I had way too much cotton in the dripper. Pulling about a third of it out has transformed it.

Wow Don that's awesome! I've still not tried any of the funky stuff (Taifun, Kayfun, ultrafire fun) yet but I keep hearing so many great things about these units.....

Sorry about the dead short, hopefully the cell is okay and you caught it fast enough, that'd be a pisser if a cell was wrecked!
