RE: What did you get today?
The Private has my first dripper on it. Since it came coiled and wicked (Silica, dual coils 1.8 ohms so quite high resistance) instant gratification was the name of the game. If you fill the deck bit up, it lasts quite a long time between refills. It will be substantially lower in resistance when I get around to cotton wicking and recoiling it. I'll probably aim for 1.1-1.2 ohms and take it from there.

The Hammer certainly inspires curiosity. Was round to see a friend and immediately got asked "WTF is that?"

While lying on the sofa reading (At least till the assistants both jumped on board on top of me all 65.3kg of them (144lbs)) with a long bent drip tip it was really comfortable to use in that position.

RE: What did you get today?
Discovered why I've been getting so many of these "Sorry you were out" cards when I've been in. Turns out the relief postie is scared witless of the junior assistant who gets really, really vocal when someone approaches the front door. Or breathes in the street outside. Or shuts a car door in the street.

But I managed to catch him today before he'd run too far away and got some wire.

Mostly very fine stuff that I'm going to try twisting together to see how that works in coils.

Good luck with that. I have a pair of +3.5 reading glasses in the vaping stuff box.

Now all I need to fix is the tremor in my hands that's been there for at least 40 years.

Tell me about it. Luckily my eyesight is still pretty shit hot, and my hands only shake when James runs off.....again, whilst I'm visiting Wayne at little puffer......

I should be ok if I can come up with a way of getting it all neat and compact, i'll try to take pictures if it doesn't look too much like a dogs dinner

RE: What did you get today?
Tried recoiling the Pulse. Twisted a bunch of 0.25mm Kanthal wire (Of which I appear to have a lifetime supply - I appear to have got 20-40m instead of the 10m I ordered) together (I thought) tightly. Next time I'll use an electric screwdriver or drill to do this bit. Cut a length that measured as 2 ohms knowing there'd be some wastage.

Then wasted some time finding a former that was the same diameter as the mesh wick. I thought it looked quite pretty coiled till I took some pics.

Dog's breakfast would sum it up.

And I must have cut off more than I thought as the Vamo told me 1.0 ohms and refused to fire. Ah well, that's what mechs are for so stuck it on the hammer. That wimpy little bit of SS mesh appears to wick it just fine.

I've been playing with a building a Trident clone with little success. I have a lot of wire and ecowool. Just have to keep practicing and get it right before I move on to the steam turbine and kracken.

RE: What did you get today?
Mark. Get a two mm (roughly 1/8) Screw driver. If your using 30g (.25mm) and single coil then about 8 wraps tight, pinch them up. Remove, squeeze closed and torch till the coil glows.  Pull it out of the flame and hold it closed till its cool. You should now have a micro coil.

Twist some unbleached cotton (this is the experiment bit, you want it free enough that you can pull it easily backwards and forwards through the coil). Tuck the ends under the coil and your away. My trident works great like this (I do use dual coils). Do check your resistance with either a vw device or a multimeter, but you should be safe at what I've described.

Oh. DO NOT DRY BURN COTTON.  KEEP IT WET.
