RE: What are you listening to?
At 12:01am on August 1, 1981, history was made when MTV, the first 24-hour video music channel, launched onto our television sets and literally changed our lives with the birth of the music video. The first video ever played on the network was quite ironic — “Video Killed The Radio Star” by The Buggles.

Okay since there appears to be some music knowledge here. I have been going nuts to remember the name of a song and/or artist who had a one hit wonder in the 1990s???? american midwest from what I can recall and song only had a few words that were repeated over and over again....

Help

Oh No.  I listened to Video Killed the Radio Star and it's stuck in my head.  It took a couple of decades to stop hearing it the first time.

I understand Hasselhoff is big in Germany now.

David Hasselhoff was actually very good in Jekyll & Hyde on Broadway.

I'm sure he was better than Russel Crowe in Les Miserable

This one was one of my personal favorites though.

I did this production in my high school theater and we did a three night performance at the local big art theatre. I wasn't lucky to be a main cast though.

That's kind of a broad description... If you can remember any more details, like any of the words or maybe the genre, I might be able to help. In the meantime, here's a list of one-hit wonders from the '90s. Link to Wikipedia article
