Just for a change. This is a very Anglo version of how I speak sometimes.

RE: What are you listening to?
It is late now here - 12.00 - I am about to go to my bed - I am listening to Johnny Cash - the Bitter Tears LP (vinyl) - this guy has been my favourite singer since I first heard him nearly 60 years ago - saw me safely through my adolescent years right up to now - saw him live twice in Glasgow - no country singer will ever match him - totally above and beyond anyone else. Music is great for your soul. This guy has given me so much pleasure for over 50 years I really do not know what I would have done without him when times were bad - in my late teens and early twenties - music can do that to you - a totally human concept. What would we do without it. Have a good evening.

I adore Johnny Cash.  He embraced music until his death.  I get chills when I listen to his version of NIN Hurt.

Much, much better than the original IMO

I'm a huge NIN fan, but I agree, Cash's version is so much better.  After hearing it I loaded up on Johnny Cash music and realized what an amazing musician he was.

Currently I'm listening to AC/DC.  My favorite driving music.

Recently I was traveling with the Mrs and had the media stick plugged in, listening to Aerosmith, followed by some CCR, The Who, a few Eagles tracks then all of a sudden RUN DMC "walk this way" starts playing -- she lowers the sound volume, looks at me and says "our medical plan covers psychological care, you can get therapy for that"... come on now - thats a classic... if it matters, the next track was Amy Winehouse.... Smile eclectic taste and variety is a good thing... Following track after that was Henry Mancini (Peter Gunn theme) -- that should get the young members here doing some googling. Smile

Peter Gunn - Duane Eddy - a blast from the past[Image: smile.gif]. I have this on my Ipod - play it regularly.

RE: What are you listening to?
I know Mancini, don't know Peter Gunn though. Wasn't Mancini the orchestra leader for the Pink Panther Theme?

Sometimes when my wife and I are on a road trip, she'll put my iPod on shuffle and I have to guess what song/artist is playing. Doesn't sound so hard, until you realize I have over 10,000 songs by hundreds of artists, many of whom I barely ever (if at all) listen to. I've got classical, punk, alternative, easy listening, jazz, classic rock, German heavy metal, k-pop, you name it!

Don't admit you have the Bieber or I'll leave the forum! Smile Peter Gunn was a TV series PI from the late 50's....I wasn't around then either...but am a vintage TV nut! Star Trek TOS, etc...

RE: What are you listening to?
Oh ok! I'll have to check that out. I love older TV shows, my dad and I used to watch Hogan's Heroes every night (he has every season on DVD) and also Gilligan's Island, The Dick van Dyke Show, etc. So I'm sure I'd enjoy Peter Gunn.
