we are facing a similar law in New Hampsire that would ban the use of electronic cigarettes in all public forums sighting battery explosions as a detrimental threat to public safety .
my self i think this is just a way to get around claims that can't be supported . bicycle related injures are 100 times more common but no one opposes bicycles.

Burbon comes from Kentucky , scotch comes from Scotland . Others deserve no bottle .

RE: Virginian Senate Committee Halts Restrictions on E-Cigarettes.
Why don't they just ban 18650s? Those are the real culprits. Ecigs aren't a threat to public safety, batteries are!!!
(I'm being sarcastic)

But seriously, battery safety is the real concern here, not vaping. If people can't learn to use their batteries properly, then they don't need to be using them in the first place. Following the same logic ("battery explosions as a detrimental threat to public safety") they should outlaw laptops, since they use 18650s which can potentially explode. They should also ban flashlights, smoke alarms, electric toothbrushes, dildos, anything with a battery in it.
It's just so fucking ridiculous. If it were anything else, they wouldn't even consider banning it. Like you said, no one is suggesting a ban on bicycles. Maybe I should start a political group, "Vapers Against Mountain Bikes." My cousin almost killed himself on a mountain bike, one of my college dorm buddies was hospitalized for a few days on a mountain bike, so maybe that would show someone the insane logical fallacies they're presenting when they try to ban vaping simply because some people are idiots.
