Good point Paul , the vast majority of these incidents do involve mech mods

Yes the majority are from mechs - some of my regulated mods have given me warning to prevent an incident like cells were unbalanced or RDA was too hot, etc.... my only fail was a regulated LIPO - fire button stuck and lipo cell overheated - fortunately I was able to get it outside to the centre of the backyard and get the camera ready for what I thought would have been a show...... thankfully..... or sadly nothing happened and the tank was ultimately saved.... Paul, most people can't afford those mods anyway, so only the wealthy and stupid will be at risk! Tongue

I'm neither. Just old and grouchy - where do you fit?

All would really depend on who you ask.....according to my exs, the consensus is that I'm wealthy (and hiding millions) and stupid.....I can't be that stupid if I'm hiding millions...... Tongue

Lipos are at times dangerous. They are not stable and really no one needs a big lipo in a mod. I'm sure Don can come in here on this.

RE: Video circulating Facebook
Lipos (If used as intended) have a massive margin of safety. Most larger ones are designed for extremely high discharge rates. Way, way more than vaping will pull from them. Many are designed for electrically powered aircraft which can easily consume multiple kilowatts.

As long as they aren't allowed to overheat and aren't accessible to fingers or random metal objects they should be perfectly safe and can actually supply the requested current without sagging to 1V while doing it. As a result they are much less likely to overheat and it is almost always overheating that makes Bad Things Happen.

Bu they do contain a great deal of energy and if you let it out all at once the result is not going to be happy.

My daughter was vaping for about a month before i realized she was caring her spare cells in her purse.. losely. I freaked out and gave her a couple of 2 cell plastic cases I had.

Being the Dad I am I visited the shop she bought everything from and gave them a pretty stern... what kinda idiots are you lecture and they promised to do better. Whether they move forward with that or ignore it is on them. But you have to preach batterie safety to those that are new.

Dad rant off...

Just so I am understanding correctly so I am handling and operating my mod safely. I typically put my mod in my purse in one pocket. While my keys and phone are in a separate section. Is this safe and ok? ( they may be in pocket next to mod) I never put my mod in my pocket. I have a spare set of batteries but I only swap them in and out of my mod and leave them at home when not in use.
P.s just got tagged in another article saying different vape flavors cause blood vessel and heart damage but then of course the last paragraph basically said it was a “ short study and the chemicals were directly injected into cells under a microscope... which doesn’t mimic actual vaping” so essentially the article scared this shit out of me and then at the end said but none of this research proves anything
Yes i read that articl , not only do they admit that the dosage was several times feasible exposure , they never site an actual e-juice/liquid flavor but instead site a small goupr of flavor based and no evidece that the said flavorings are used in any juice .
