RE: Tube mods vs series mods
Not going to leave you hangin' gently....yes I recall something like that as well....the description of the pizza slices is triggering something in my fuzzy brain.... Sad What had caught my eye was the mirror finish on the mod and I recall thinking that it would have been a royal pain to keep clean. Sad

It was this one it says 99% battery efficiency at .1 . Everyone who bought one built them at .1 'cuz it said so.

As per a previous post here where I indicated and questioned the decision of wanting a KENNEDY, and I had lost interest in tube mods - now thanks to you Mr. Gently, I want one of these! Smile

Damn, they carry it at a few shops all within driving distance on a beautiful Saturday afternoon...can't even use the "with shipping, waiting, etc..." lines Sad

I did hit it at .1 and it was a really nice mod, not that helps dissuade you in any way Tongue

The video kinda shows the switch 'pizza slices' I was referring to... cool as f**k!

RE: Tube mods vs series mods
I'm telling the story..

A few months back one of the lads from my local b&m asked me to build him some .1 coils, so I did obviously Biggrin I was using the rx200 at the time so I was familiar with .1 builds and didn't think anything of the request. When I handed him the coils he proceeded to put them into his mech! I did mention the dangers but he showed me the packaging with the .1 build recommendation. (Where my vauge recollection came from)
Any who, it was all for a local cloud comp.. that he went on to win, seeing off a noisy cricket that some how was aloud in.

Tl;dr long story short my coils in that mod just own! King

RE: Tube mods vs series mods
That comp's judges should be taken out back and shot for allowing a Noisy Cricket into the same comp as tube mechs. Also, the idiot with the Noisy Cricket should be taken out back and shot for not winning over a bunch of tube mechs.

Seriously though, that looks like a great mod but I'm not a fan of bottom airflow. I'd love to have a hybrid Phenotype-L but sadly no such monster exists. I'm using my Phenotype-L atop my Caravela mech right now and I gotta say, I kind of missed it. Tube mechs are fun. Got an Orbtronic SX30 in there which iirc is a rewrapped VTC4, so CLOUDZ BRO.

Not a fan of the under coil air flow?? I thought everyone loved the kennedy, I sure did!

Yeah, not sure how the cricket scenario came about either really. Meh, it didn't matter, he had a gentle coil Sleepy

RE: Tube mods vs series mods
Well, in my defense I've never tried the Kennedy. For me, bottom airflow brings up bad memories of awful three-post atties with tiny post holes and juice leaking everywhere. I tend to overfill RDAs.
