Temp control
Holy crap I just tried using temperature control for the first time and I done something horribly wrong. set my pico to 450F in SS mode and I took a puff and about died haha. It hit like it was set on 200w with a dry wick. The wicks still wet and Vapes fine in wattage mode...what did I do wrong? It was awful

RE: Temp control
One, what metal are you using?

Two, did you lock the resistance at room temp?

Three, aside from temp, did you set power as well?

Four, did you choose the right metal type for the coil?

RE: Temp control
I'm using a SS coil in SS mode. I don't have the booklet for this mod and have never used temp control I didn't know you had to set power too. It took like 10 minutes to figure out how to switch it into temp control mode. I need a manual lol

RE: Temp control
Toop, in TC you have temperature and power to set, along with base resistance and metal type. If the Pico defaults to the max power when you initially switch over, that would explain the sear. Also, if you didn't set the base resistance or fired it while it was warm first, that would also explain it.

In power mode, you set watts or volts and have a good day. In TC, you set metal type, power, temp, and base resistance. Easy once you get the hang of it, but definitely more to mind.

RE: Temp control
Yeah on my alien it will ask for the wattage you want it to use to reach the desired temp. I keep it at 40 watts on this .5 dual coil and run my temp at 370-410 depending on juice
