Tank or RDA?
So the title says it all!  Do you prefer a Tank or a RDA. Why and which tank/RDA  do you have or use the most.

One more thing. I've got a Aspire Odyssey mini with coils of 1.2 ohm. After a while it says on the device that it is a 1.5 ohm. Any idea why it went up?

Have a good day!

Erwin.

RE: Tank or RDA?
Nice topic I personally prefer a tank just fill and go the two I use are the aspire Atlantis v1 tried a v2 just too much airflow for me and you can't use a different drip tip with it, for me Atlantis I have also got a rebuildable coil setup which is handy I also own a billow v2 with a custom duel coil build in it running 60 w at 0.13 ohm there is only one word for the clouds and that is mental Yes

Thanks for your reply. Actually I've got one more question. If you are using a 0.15 ohm coil do you have to use a higher wattage? And with a 1.2 ohm coil a lower wattage? I'm new to this Smile

RE: Tank or RDA?
It is quite natural for coils to jump once vaped. Don't sweat it.

I primarily use RTAs and RDAs. I prefer RDAs. Currently taking my little stumpy to work with a single .8 clapton coil. The taste is way better than any tank I own. As fior RTAS - I have the bellus, the aromamizer, the haze and the mutank in my rotation. I'm just now trying the new Hobo RDA at .5 ohm. Dual twisted. I like it a lot too.

I've traded away all my 'low ohm tanks'. That means I have no crowns, arctics, tfv4s etc. If I use a tank I use my Kanger mini RBA or my triton 2. Now let me elaborate here. I have RDAs at home with alien coils and builds below .1 ohm. Heck my haze and aromamizer are both arounsd .08. But I prefewr to vape at lower watts - not above 50 watts. And I build my daily vape RDAs around .4 - .8 ohms and they work great. I'm chasing flavour not clouds. Yes at 80+ watts my .14 coils give me good flavour. My .5 RDAs also give me good flavour at 45-50 watts.

Mike is sending me some low ohm coils. I will use them. No problem there. On my day off, sitting at home I pull out my mech mods. At work a D3 or a Cuboid is fine. Even my 50w kanger will see an RDA at work.

RE: Tank or RDA?
To be honest I think it all comes down to personal preference lower ohm coils will heat super quick and give massive vapour higher ohm coils will take longer to heat up but will give better flavour it's all about what you like at the end of the day Yes3

RE: Tank or RDA?
My tanks hit as hard as some drippers do, I use them according to situation, moving requires a tank, static and the dripper comes out to play.

Resistance normally goes up and down through a normal range, no bother there. If it goes down significantly or is erratic then there is a problem.

RE: Tank or RDA?
Generally I prefer RDAs, simply because I can build them to give me better clouds and flavor than any tank. But I drive a lot, so I use tanks a lot. As far as tanks go, I generally use my Arctic, TFV4, or Nautilus Mini. The Arctic and TFV4 are both good for high VG juice at high wattages for giant clouds, whereas the Nautilus Mini is for thinner juice at higher nicotine levels, as a "stealth vape" when I don't want to blow giant clouds. For RDA, my favorite is the Dark Horse.

RE: Tank or RDA?
As seen by the responses here, there's no one best way- other than what works best for you. I was all tank all the time until I got my first dripper. Since then I've almost never used another tank (except for sneaking the Nautilus at hotels).

I work from home so I basically never drive for work purposes,so the mobility advantage of a tank is moot for me. I use a dripper exclusively. And that dripper is the 13 Heavens 9 Hells, with a Velocity clone once in a while. The flavor and vapor of an RDA is too good for me to justify going back to a tank. Plus, of course, rapid flavor changes if desired. I like to change flavors often throughout the day.

RE: Tank or RDA?
Thank you for the replies, was very interested what you guys use and why. I received my infinite clt v3 RDA. Still trying to figure out how to take it apart. When you have a new RDA /dripper is it also very stuck / difficult to take it apart? I've got kanthal wire 0.32 mm ( I don't know what gauge that is, in Dutch we don't use the term gauge.)  I prefer flavor above clouds. At what ohm should I build my coils at for the best flavor?

Have a good day!
