RE: Steeping.
i have a question bout steeping in general. well a few.
first question, what is a "normal" steep time for "lab made" juices? ( such as Cpt Obvious, Cuttwood and the like)
second question : when you get the juice, and the flavor is what you like is there a way to keep the flavor without "ruining" the juice?
third question : does e-juice continue to steep as it sits, such as most of my juices sit in my desk at room temp.
thanks for the info.

Edit: i'm tryin to as well figure out if my juice has steeped and i'm not getting the flavor any more, or if i've got something on my equipment not set right. when i first got my juice every vape for a week or so was the exact flavor, after a while though, it seems to not have the same flavor. The coil in my tank was recently(within 3 days) changed to a new one as well as the tank was cleaned.

RE: Steeping.
Most juice should be good to go from the store. Some might need a week or two more.  As you can see from the colours of the juices above, the chemical reactions continue. Unless you dislike the developing flavours, juice should have a shelf life of a couple of years.

The dulling of the flavour could be "vaper's tongue"  Try taking more fluids. Preferably water. And change flavours for a while then go back and see if the flavour of the original juice has improved

RE: Steeping.
Like Don said, sounds like vapor's tongue.

As for steeping there are a lot of variables that change how long, if to do it at all, if it's good or not to even do it. For instance some flavorings take longer to come out that others. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on if you want more of that flavor to shine through or not. Oil based vs Water based makes a difference too. Most of the time I say to always stick with water based flavorings. They don't take as long to steep if at all depending on the flavor. I DIY and some flavors are better steeped some are not. My daily vape is one that I like to just speed steep it. After I make up a batch I put it in a pot with hot water. Not boiling hot, just hot. I get a color change and it's clearer after I do this. I have done the month long steep and for this juice it's not as good as the speed vape. The temperature does something to this one to get it mixed up right. So obviously the temp that you steep at has an effect too.

This is kinda what I say. If you like it, vape it and if you don't put it on the shelf and come back to it later. Sometimes you will be happily surprised and if you are then make a note to yourself that it's a juice you like but only after it has steeped.

If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?

RE: Steeping.
Don, and 18, what bout doing something more like Gatorade or flavored carbonated water? soemthing that isnt the flavor i'm vaping but isnt "water" as the water here has a horrid after-taste. I drink alot of coffee with milk thru the day, and i know that milk can leave a film on the tongue and taste buds, that could impact other flavors in general. would that work?

RE: Steeping.
Basically when we tell people to drink more water, what we really mean is keep yourself hydrated. If you get thirsty, you're already partly dehydrated so you should take a drink regularly even if you're not thirsty yet. Gatorade or flavored water should be just fine, though I wouldn't drink too much Gatorade because it has a lot of sodium and other stuff that's good for you if you're playing sports, but isn't so great if you drink a lot of it when you're not being physically active. Coffee and tea are great alternatives if you don't like plain water. Or you could go to Walmart or a health store and get water there, most of those places have filtered water dispensers with the added bonus of not having fluoride.

RE: Steeping.
Michael, i drink about 2 pots of coffee a day, some days more. I was thinking of something similar to teh Clearly American style flavored water. I know Walmart carries something like that witha variety of flavors, as mom used to get them when i was younger. the local dollar store has something similar as well.

RE: Steeping.
If the water tastes bad, certainly go for alternatives that work for you. Preferably sugar free and not carbonated, but whatever lets you keep up your fluid intake is good.

RE: Steeping.
Don thanks for your info on the other post about coils, which i think has answered for me why i'm not getting the flavor i'm used to getting out of my juice. i think when i go back to my vape shop, i'll be getting .5 ohm kanthal and vaping happy and flavorful again.
it may not be vapor's tongue as we thought.
