Snippet from The Times newspaper 17/2/14
"One of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies has warned lawmakers that electronic cigarettes could act as a “gateway to tobacco” .

The leaked correspondence from GlaxoSmithKline, whose nicotine patches, gums and lozenges are being undermined by the burgeoning e-cigarette market, reveals the opposition from the pharmaceutical industry to impending regulation of e-cigarettes across the European Union."

Does this confirm suspicions that big pharmas are working against the ecig industry behind the scenes?

This is rich...we have the president of the U.S. and half of America swearing marijuana is not a gateway drug, and pushing to legalize it, and yet vaping is a gateway drug......if vaping is a gateway drug what are nicotine patches.

The gateway argument is old hat now and doesn't hold water - perhaps these Big Pharmaceutical companies should worry more about the bribery exposure that's coming to light in the public arena.

Heads are going to roll and there will be a lot of red faces both within the government and within BP and various sponsored Public Health organisations. This corruption will all be exposed clearly in the up and coming court cases... it's inevitable.

I haven't read it. I'll check it out.

I don't think there is any question that big pharma would do anything they can to get rid of e-cigs. Furthermore, if they believed it actually was a gateway to tobacco they wouldn't be saying one word about it because it would gain them millions of customers. Simply put they want more customers not less so they must know that e-cigs are costing them business. If more people were becoming addicted to tobacco because of e-cigs they would love us not hate us.

erectile dysfunction
hair loss
sight loss
bleeding piles
heart murmers
insomnia
depression
suicidal thoughts
hearing voices
satanic possesion
weight gain
weight loss
acne
sensitive nipples
prostate cancer
slurred speach
multiple personality disorder
excessive sweating
excessive flatulance
diahrrea
constipation
bunions
vegetarianisim.

and yet they pass this shite out like candy, BECAUSE IT'S SAFE.but tell us they can't let us vape because they don't know what the effect are.......don't know what the effects are......and you think the goverment cares about our health.

"if they believed it actually was a gateway to tobacco they wouldn't be saying one word about it because it would gain them millions of customers"

You have hit the nail on the head - if e-cigs were a gateway to tobacco cigarettes then the big pharmas would be quiet as a mouse as it would lead to more people to treat in the future. All we are asking for is a fair and honest debate about e-cigs and then people can make their own minds up.

It was interesting to see a former UK government drugs policy advisor saying that he thinks ecigs can have a similar impact on the nations health to what we saw with the introduction of vaccinations! Now that is saying something!
