Root Beer - I need inspiration.
Hi - this is really a question for FB and HH. I need at least one more ingredient for a decent Root Beer. I have Sarsparilla, Dandelion & Burdock but need a citrus type flavour in there as well - any ideas guys - and will it need anything else.

RE: Root Beer - I need inspiration.
I would look at adding a licorice type of flavour to the mix...I would add some anise as I know it's part of the base taste of root beer.

Thanks FB - I knew I could count on you. Never gave liquorice a thought, Aniseed is sound advice. I will let you know how I get on.

RE: Root Beer - I need inspiration.
I use TFA Root Beer, CAP Root Beer, and MF Vanilla. I think I will add in a dash of black licorice next time though, that's a great idea. 'Tis a bold flavor though, so it will be like .5%.

RE: Root Beer - I need inspiration.
I have tried lots of different concoctions but still cannot find one better than Sarsparilla on its own.

RE: Root Beer - I need inspiration.
I may need that one. What brand?

Anyway, this is my next test.

RootinTootin:

0.65% Black Licorice (FW)
1.20% French Vanilla Creme (TPA)
2.50% Root Beer (CAP)
6.00% Root Beer (TPA)
0.60% Vanilla (MF)

Flavor total: 10.95%

RE: Root Beer - I need inspiration.
It is a UK house brand by The Vape Shop. It is really difficult to find - that is why I have been trying with different mixes.

RE: Root Beer - I need inspiration.
Nutty you little vixen.

This:

0.65% Black Licorice (FW)
1.20% French Vanilla Creme (TPA)
2.50% Root Beer (CAP)
6.00% Root Beer (TPA)

Is exactly what I was looking for! That black licorice has propelled it right to the top of the RB recipes I've made. It is now very very close to the root beer barrel candies. That BL put that twangy zing into it that is very true to the actual candy. Also reminds me of Sarsaparilla candies. Here's how I can best describe it:

My wife already likes Rootin' Tootin' v1 a LOT. Enough so that when I told her I made an improved version, she actually got upset with me and said I've surely ruined it- it was already just right.

Anyway, she tried the enhanced (licorice infused) version. She then went to the basket, took out the old v1 (remember, she loved it), and dropped it on the floor. It wasn't mean-spirited. It was her way of saying I have perfected this profile and no longer need to work on this anymore. She said this could easily sell on the marketplace, easily the best DIY juice I have crafted. Still raving about it in text messages. Annoying now, actually.

So, great idea!

RE: Root Beer - I need inspiration.
I've tried many mixes of this kind, but until date, the only one that met my expectations was the Moscow Mule by 7th Floor Cocktails. It had the flavor of the real thing: vodka, ginger beer and a squeeze of lime. I'm not a huge fan of it, but when I need to break the norm and vape something different other than fruity flavors and the like, it's my go-to e-juice.
