RE: Rebuildable but not replacing coil pack
The snapped one was a short! Be careful of that, it can get ugly and not just for the battery and mod. I once had one go while I was vaping, it was the single most HORRENDOUS dry hit I've had! Try keeping the power to a minimum while dry burning the coil, that way you get a chance to see the short before it all goes badWink
Dropped or knocked over my mod so many times while building, no shame in that. I've even ruined an rba deck, not just the coils. Haha

3 goes to get it right isn't bad going. Think most of us scrapped a few coils on the first go, I still do now and again. Lol

RE: Rebuildable but not replacing coil pack
@gentlydoingit*

Revised my design after seeing it, had to do a redesign as the initial design would not have worked at all (knowing what I know now about coil deign and vaping). The revised design is going to take a large amount of time as the "radiation symbol" design had little to no vapor output potential and I altered it mentally but it is going to take some serious work in 3d modeling to draw it out. Even if I did it in paint in 2d it would require a large amount of time...

My initial design had no room whatsoever for vapor output, except from the ends themselves. The design is a huge difference in appearance, yet taking out the honeycomb parts (as that is a stong structure) to allow vapor to escape is going to be time consuming. Plus allowing for chambers for airflow.

Kinda having fun 3d modeling again, and am enjoying the process... Only issue is I really think it will require 2x the size of a lemo 2 tank (diameter) to be practical manufacturing it, I see no way possible of getting it as small as current coil and wick method for RBA tanks...

So cool.. I have no clue what it looks like but if it only produces vapour at the ends can't it be rotated vertical? I wouldn't care if it were huge either, a working prototype can always be refined Smile

Yeah Rip Trippers videos helped alot, have his lemo v1 build video bookmarked.

And for gentlydoingit*roughly looked like this from the top view https://pixabay.com/en/radiation-symbol-danger-646212/ except that the yellow parts were the solid parts and extended from the inner core to the outer ring, and the black part is where the wick would have gone

Still going with the initial thought, but adding in chambers to allow vapor to get out efficiently from the core

RE: Rebuildable but not replacing coil pack
I have another quick question, this one about ejuice..

When I got this kit I started using a brand that I ended up hating, but it was clear and after 2 weeks was when I changed the wick and changed juice. This brand I am now using is a amber color. After using 30ml of this juice I changed out the wick and it was as black as tar.

From using about 45ml of the old juice, the wick barely had any discoloration to it, so I am thinking it may make a difference.

If your juice is colored will it make your wick go bad faster?   Or could it be the vg/pg ratio?

RE: Rebuildable but not replacing coil pack
Colour, vg and sweetness are the yardsticks I use to gauge how long a wick will stay good. I only use clear (usually menthol based) juices in my rta's, unless they're due a change anyway. Anything else goes onto a dripper.. less of a pain to swap out Tongue

I've had 5 weeks from my billow without changing wicks, and when I did it looked like it could do the same again!.

RE: Rebuildable but not replacing coil pack
I've seen that colored juices definitely stain the wick but don't foul it any quicker. The staining is deceptive and it does make it look like it's gone south. I hate when the stained wick makes the low juice all dark, looks ugly.
