I would have to look back at the website to see if it states the id of the built coil. The id is what states the inner diameter of the coil itself

Gotcha! Thanks

RE: Premade Coils
Michael, as the coils heat up, resistance goes up too. If the mod is changing the base reading to reflect the current coil temp as base instead, then yes it will heat very quickly. As for the RX, I found this:

Resistance Locking: With your atomizer attached to the device and the device turned on: Press and hold the Fire Button and the Up Button at the same time for 5 seconds.

Locking that base to the ambient room temp is definitely critical. You're generally allowed to lock that resistance in at any temp you want, but if the coils are hot, it will definitely throw off the mod because it is starting at what it thinks is room temperature resistance. If you lock it when the coils are still hot, it will be hot the next time you draw.

I used TC with my iPV8 and IM. (Though currently I am using it on the iPV5 of course). You can use whatsoever you like.

Actually the Hohm Wrecker G2 can do TC with Kanthal

RE: Premade Coils
My two bit's for what it's worth, first $10 for a pair of hand made Fused Clapton's, that's pretty much the norm. Trying to compare hand made coils to coils churned out in a factory in China is comparing Apples to a rock. With that said though, here's my recommendation. Buy a few of these cheap coils, then get some coils from a good coil maker, you'll see a difference. Once you do that -

Start building your own starting off with basic coils, move to simple twisted and parallel coils. Once you get a grasp there get some Clapton and Fused Clapton wire in the spool and wrap some up. After that start spinning your own wire, it really isn't that hard and I find spinning Fused Clapton wire, it's pretty easy actually for it just takes a bit of practice.

Once you start spinning your own wire it really opens up a huge amount of options and there's a lot of benefits to it, not just financially.

For me the game changer was this vid from Grimm Green -

The best and easiest way to make perfect claptons is to pick up an Avidartisan Daedulus kit. It's well worth every penny and then some.

Disagree, don't believe it would work out well with 34g core wire Wink

Ball bearing fishing spinners and a decent drill works very well and many more options

Here's another good video with another method of wrapping...I haven't tried holding so close to core yet, just holding spool out a foot away at 90 degree angle.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpVL9d_ejus

Tin will advise on ability of using Daedulus kit with 34ga core as he uses it and swears by it.

RE: Premade Coils
For someone who wants to make a fused Clapton and lacks the time or patience to wind it, the Daedalus is a great option. It's difficult to trust someone who speaks against it if they haven't used it. Sure, people say you're not a real builder if you cheat with a jig, but let me tell you this much about the D... I put the core in the chuck, wrap the outer around it, turn on the jig drill, and my part is complete. 15 minutes later I have a nice length of fused Clapton ready to go.

Why in the world would you speak against it if it can help anyone DIY their own Claptons? Maybe it can't make corrugated star flapjack diamond skeleton flame beagle penta-twist hydro Claptons, but maybe we don't all need to use some exotic build to feel like real vapers.

Hi TW - I made one of those coils - got the formula from Jamie Olivers recipe book.

If you used the Daedalus, post a video...
