Poll: When do you change your coils?
Just curious, when do you guys and gals change your coils? I used to always change them whenever the flavor started to change, but lately I've been waiting until they get unbearably bad just to save money. I know a lot of RDA users change them whenever they feel like since wire is so cheap, but I've been using pre-made coils recently since tanks are easier to use when I'm driving and the TFV4 is so freakin' awesome.

Also, I don't know how to make a poll post when I'm using the mobile site on my phone, so I guess just reply with answers Tongue

RE: Poll: When do you change your coils?
When I have to.

With nickel coils this means every time I replace the wick.

So it is just as well I won't use nickel for anything more than testing.

Titanium coils - when they become discoloured (or ignite).

Kanthal coils - well I like really thick wire so approximately never. I only change coils if I've managed to wreck them. With 20 gauge Kanthal that probably means I've wrecked the atty too...

When I get bored and want a different resistance level or build type.

Remind one liberal per day, that laws affect only the law-abiding.

RE: Poll: When do you change your coils?
I'm still new to coil building so I change them a couple times a week for practice. I'm sure I'll slow down on that soon.

RE: Poll: When do you change your coils?
Yeah, I’m still not sure on this one; I’ve used Aspire Atlantis and Triton tanks almost exclusively and have yet to really pin down when a coil needs changed. As a rule, I was changing them about once a week to a week and a half, but upon listening to a review of the Triton by TiaVapes on YouTube, she said she used the same coil for +3 weeks?!? I could save a TON if 3 5-packs of coils would last me a YEAR!

And a tangential question: does allowing juice to sit in a tank for extended periods have any adverse effects to the wire, cotton or tank? Is the juice corrosive or does it go through any chemical changes when sedentary for extended period that might be harmful to the guts of a coil or tank?

There's no ‘I’ in ‘TEAM.’ There’s no ‘U’ either. It doesn’t appear the TEAM needs us, so let’s go grab a beer!Drinks

I'm with almost jaded, whenever I'm bored with the build or I've thought of something new to try. They almost never need changing.

RE: Poll: When do you change your coils?
I've been lazy of late I'm using the 0.3 pre built coils in my Zephyrus and I seem to change them every 5-6 weeks

RE: Poll: When do you change your coils?
I never need to change the coils on my RDAs. I use thick claptons. I only change to play with my resistance. I do not need to pulse and clean them though. Now on my prebuilt coils it really varies. A lot depends on the juice I am using. Some juices really gunk up the coils. On RDAs - no problem - clean and rewick. On prebuilt - well.

I just changed the cols on my twisted because I wanted to test an alien coil build. On my crown I find the coils last two-three weeks easy. On my subtank mini the coils are crappy - a week to a week and half. So I switched to the RBA. On my TFV 4 I use the single coil RBA and am really happy with it. Same coil now for a month and a half.
