RE: New vaper
Welcome Dixie and congrats on finding vaping!

As a general rule of thumb, it's normally stupid people doing stupid things that cause them to blow up. With some common sense and a little research it's perfectly safe.

As for your (iStick I assume)... it's a regulated mod with built-in protection. It won't blow up on you Good

Enjoy your stay Drinks

RE: New vaper
Thanks, all my items come from a local vape shop, I let them rebuild all my coils, I just got a little scared seeing that there have been a few that blew up.

RE: New vaper
Hi and welcome DB!

I've been using cheap and nasty lithium cells for more than ten years. In all that time I have had exactly one cell misbehave violently.

I'm using a 30 watt Istick with a Kanger mini Sub and coils down to .5 Ohm. There is no problem. The Istick is designed for such things and will not fire something it can't handle. Vape and enjoy.

RE: New vaper
Don't worry abut eh media scare articles.  Use the supplied charger or a normal USB charger - not a rapid charger.  That's the only way to cause anything to go wrong with the iStick battery. The battery failures you've seen involved people horribly misusing their equipment.  It's a very rare occurrence, and usually requires a large degree of stupidity and/or ignorance to have happen.

RE: New vaper
Thanx everyone, I use to smoke 2 to 2.5 packs a day, I went into a vape shop a few weeks ago and got me 2 30 watts batteries and mini sub tanks, the first few days I had to learn how to vape with them, I am still learning all this vape stuff, but so far I am enjoying it, and feel a lot better.

RE: New vaper
Welcome to the TVF family, DixieBelle! So happy that you've given up smoking and taken up vaping instead.

Your gear is good stuff and you shouldn't worry about them blowing up on you. There are really only two types of users that have had issues with cells venting and those are the folks who use cheap, no-name Chinese vape pens with questionable cells and electronics in them and those who do really extreme and stupid
sub-sub-ohming (anything lower than 0.2ohms can be risky unless you know what you're doing and use the best cells.

Stick with brand name gear of known quality from known makers and you will have nothing to worry about. Eleaf, Kanger, Aspire, SMY, Vamo, Ego...the list of quality stuff goes on and on. If you have any question about gear you are thinking of getting please post here before buying and we will be happy to assist in your next choices. For now though, you have good stuff and should be quite safe. Now you can start playing with eliquid flavors and have a blast finding that perfect flavor for you. Good
