My New Nimbus
Can someone give me an idea of where to start with a coil in a Nimbus? All I have at the moment is 30 ga kanthal, I should have 28 ga coming in the next day or so. I had a 1.6 made up for my Kayfun, and just stuck it in there....I think its laughing at me..  I also have a pair of NCR 18650B's charging. The KFL runs great, the Nimbus just sputters a little, and hardly any vapor.

Onward.. through the Fog!

RE: My New Nimbus
Do you have the Nimbus with holes on both sides of the topcap ? There's several different Nimbus types, if your is the same as my Nimbus then a single 1.6ohm coil with a dual coil topcap will be way too much airflow, most of it not passing your coil either.

I found that out! lol.. butI decided to try having a go at something I've never tried before. A nice long length of 30 ga, double it over, then give it a twist. Cut that in half, and make two 6 turn coils, and try that. She weighed in at a very respectable .3 and gives a really warm vape with TONS of vapor.. I'm putting both of those holes to good use now!  hahaha
I had already punched out both holes to about 1mm.

RE: My New Nimbus
That's great news buddy, as long as you're using the right cells it looks like you got it beat now.
As time goes on you'll really get the feel for making the coils too and quite enjoy that aspect of it too actually. I now find making and fiddling with the coils quite therapeutic Big Grin
