Microcoil and cotton wicking clearo
Damn! The quickest and most trouble free mod I've done yet!

I just took a spare bottom coil for a KWX10 clearo and yanked out the coil and wick. I wound a 9-wrap micro coil around a 1/16" bit using 34awg nicrome and wicked it with cotton using some extra flavor wicking on top. I was disappointed to find it tested out at 2.9 ohms so i through it onto my brass M16 mech to get all the wattage it could.  I have to say...WOW!!!  Best vape I've had from this clearo and it was already one of my favorites!  It crackles away like it's filled with Pop Rocks and the flavor is amazing. Lots of thick vapor clouds as well. I'm loving it!  Looking forward to redoing it with 28awg in a couple days once it arrives. Should check in at around 1.6 ohms or so and work even better. W00T!

Nice! Hey, i threw it on the SVD and saw it was 2.9, not 3.9. I knew 3.9 seemed a bit too high. Tongue  My baby girl is on my laptop so I can't get to my book marked ohms/voltage chart. What would you suggest is best with 2.9 ohms?

Heheheh...my cell was lower than I thought.  I popped in a fresh cell and BLAMMO!!  Holy crap, what a fantastic vape!!  Clouds of vapor and tons of clean flavor with zero hint of a dry hit.  No leaking since it's in a clearo and about 1.3 tanks of juice later still no sign of flooding or gurgling.  Loooooooooooove it!  Big Grin

nice.. 4.5-5.0 would likely get the best out of it but the thing is with microcoils, you really can get away with surprisingly high ohms and still get an incredible vape.

Sounds awesome.. in fact I expect it's very awesome, just wait till you wrap a microcoil under 2.0 ohms, you'll really be amazed! Smile

Micro coils make everything better.

Wait till you try nano coils, they are even easier to wrap, dunno why but they are and they really chuck the vapour if you get the wicking right.

Glad you got that clearo up and running,  I've got a few heads to try rebuilding.

I did dual nano dragon coils on my Nimbus, took the holes out further but still not impressive so I rewicked with the wick under the coils to let them breath better - Much more vapour but...

0.5 ohms generates a LOT of heat and really just doesn't perform any better than the single 1.0 ohm nano coil in my scar, and that only gets luke warm.

I'm still not convinced about dual coils so far as I have been able to generate the same output with ease from a single. Hmm will have to look into it a little further

Dual coils are only really good to get the resistance down for a mech mod, I'm finding I'm regularly getting high resistance single micro coils. They work great on a vw device but have no flavour on a mech. Its one reason I want a kick2 to play with, some times you cant fit dual coils. I also think johnny's on the right track with ribbon wire. I need to get some of that to play with.

12 wraps of 28 gauge Kanthal around a 20 gauge needle gives exactly 1 ohm

English please? I'm generally using .25mm kanthal but I do want some .32mm. I assume a 20gauge needle is about 1.5 - 2.5 mm?
