Lemon pound cake
The Princess visited a local B+M shop and picked up a few things - including a bottle of POUND IT (by foodfighterjuice) - apparently a youtube reviewers vapes it regularly - man it is good - I have never tried a cake mix......anyone have a decent recipe or idea on what I can make??????

Man this thing smells and tastes just like a warm, freshly baked lemon cake loaf..... one of the dogs is literally going nuts sniffing for crumbs... Tongue

RE: Lemon pound cake
I've never made a lemon pound cake, but I've tried several nice lemon pie juices... For a recipe, I'd try 60% sugar cookie, 30% lemon, 10% vanilla as a start. Depending on how strong you want the lemon to be (and how strong the lemon base is), adjust as needed. I think Capella's sugar cookie would be an excellent stand-in for pound cake, since I don't know of an actual pound cake base and wouldn't be able to recommend it even if I did since I haven't tried it, but Capella's sugar cookie is a really nice smooth bakery-type flavor that's sweet but not too sweet and I think it would work really nicely.

I've been trying to get a nice lemon sugar cookie. The quest for the right balance alludes me. I tried it with vanilla which muted everything. Looking for the sweet and tart.

RE: Lemon pound cake
I've never mixed with lemon at all, so I'm really just guessing based on my experience with store bought juice. Wish I could help Sad I think I might need to get one of every flavor from Capella's, just for purely scientific reasons to help with mixing chats.

You will need more Lemon than the sweet part - and you have used too much Vanilla. You should not be able to taste the Vanilla in mixes like this - it is purely a blender and will make less steeping time.

RE: Lemon pound cake
I'm going to try one using lemon, glazed donut, cake batter, vanillin, and maybe a little malted milk for balance. All these together should be difficult to get in the perfect ratios. They have such strong personalities.

Bibs, for tartnesss consider yogurt. That's my next avenue of travel. I know there are sour bases out there because juices such as Turkish Delight exist, which have clear sour notes (in a good way).
