RE: Left On The Charger
I wonder if you could use one of those timers that people use for Christmas lights? You know, the kind that plug into the wall like an extension cord, with a timer between it and the female end. Take it one step further, you could charge batteries from empty to full and time it, then you'd know about how long it takes and set the timer accordingly to shut off, so if my charger takes four hours and fifteen minutes to charge, I could just set the timer for four hours and top them up while I'm getting ready for work in the morning.

RE: Left On The Charger
Yea, and that is what I will also do when charging via device USB (at least as long as my charger has not arrived).

Lol I didn't click the link in your post, so I was kinda lost. Tongue

I still think it's a good idea, just don't leave it plugged in when you're not using it. Which is a good idea even if you're not using a timer. I never leave chargers plugged in when they're not charging, just to be on the safe side.

RE: Left On The Charger
Some do. Better still they charge according to the proper algorithm.

Charge at constant current till the cell voltage hits 4.2.

Charge at constant voltage till the charge current drops to around 10% of the original set current.

Then stop.

And don't restart till the cell is removed and another one is inserted.

RE: Left On The Charger
Dope found out this morning that the charger is smart enough not to attempt a charge if the luser puts the cell on it backwards.

RE: Left On The Charger
Everyone's done it.

Reverse charging lithium cells is A Bad Idea!

So bad that even the dumbest chargers know about it.

Almost as Bad An Idea as Swampy who just got his teeth into an 18350. Fortunately I got it off him before his teeth penetrated the can.

RE: Left On The Charger
I have enough dogs, and they're more than stupid enough, that I could easily see one of them eating a cell. That's why they are either in the mod, charging, or in little battery containers at ALL times. They are also always in the same place in my drawer so there's no chance of leaving one laying around. No exceptions.
