RE: LISTEN UP EVERYONE I WANT>>>>>
Heck why not bump.

I'm the lead fabricator for a well known classic car restorer, after teaching myself to weld.

I'm not scared of hights,  I'm scared of myself while I'm up there, because I get an almost uncontrollable urge to jump.

I own an rx7.. because I like saying wankel. (And 'cuz fast Smile )

And I am also a lefty... while writing. Everything else I do with either hand. And telling people an "I could bat both ways" cricket story while at dinner ends badly Confused

Yes, an opportunity to flex my meager understanding of psychological phenomena!! That urge to jump from high places is caused by something called cognitive dissonance; it’s essentially your brain taking in conflicting information and spitting out what it believes to be a satisfactory “solution.” When you’re faced with a significant/dangerous height, it’s common to experience mild dizziness or vertigo-like symptoms which results in your body trying to balance itself which in turn triggers fear responses. The cognitive dissonance comes in when your brain, being the central hub for all inputs and outputs, can’t identify any physical reason for the effects of fear and imbalance you’re experiencing, so it “solves” the imbalanced cause-effect relationship by creating the cause, hence the urge to jump. Fortunately, for most (I’m assuming) that urge to jump is little more than faint whisper of a notion that base instincts dismiss all but entirely (again, the brain governing itself!) PSEUDOSCIENCE!!

There's no ‘I’ in ‘TEAM.’ There’s no ‘U’ either. It doesn’t appear the TEAM needs us, so let’s go grab a beer!Drinks

So many people here that I wish I knew IRL!

Gently - as a fellow car enthusiast, I feel it necessary to remind you that a rotary is the least effective way to turn gasoline into horsepower.  Lucky for you, there are lots of engine  swaps out there for what is a perfectly wonderful sportscar once you ditch the rotarded engine.  ;-)

Chuck - most hunters I know are into animal rights.  If they aren't, they shouldn't be hunting IMO.  :-)

Well there's that.. not to start a punch up or anything, but rotary force does have fewer mechanical losses than linear force and is technically more efficient. Not that the engineering of it makes that statment true in the real world.
I have considered an ls1 lump more than once. I couldn't drop wankel into the conversation as easily then though could I Tongue

Have they made the rotor seals any better these days? Back in the NSU Ro80 days this was the killer which made most folks fit Rover  3.5l V8 motors instead.

TVF tested battery info to be found here

Nsu. Wow, I haven't heard that name in a while. Didn't vw or someone like that take them over and nearly get ruined by the warranty claims?
I think there have been many improvements to the seals over the years.  With sensible driving 100.000 miles on them is achievable, though 60-80k is more likely.

RE: LISTEN UP EVERYONE I WANT>>>>>
My brother had a '79 RX7 with the Wankel if I recall. Wankel Wankel. Pretty cool car, especially to a pre-teen like I was then. I didn't care at all what engine it had since I was too young to grasp that yet, but the word Wankel always stood out.

RE: LISTEN UP EVERYONE I WANT>>>>>
The gains to be had from the reduction in mechanical losses are far outweighed by it's insanely bad thermodynamic profile - and there's really no way around it.  We all love the way they sound and the way they DELIVER power - but holy HELL are they thirsty for gas.  Kinda sad when a 550 hp 'vette gets almost 30% better mileage than a 238 hp RX-8, lol.

Okay we should stop because off topic, lol.
