RE: Jumped In With Both Feet.
The coil in my Egrip actually disintegrated! I actually got a few pieces of burnt-tasing cotton in my mouth (YUK!). Got me a new coil and a bottle of "Mothers Milk". Its 70/30, and I opted for 6mg nic. Two thumbs up for that stuff!

Wow, I've never seen a coil disintegrate before. That's intense.

Yeah! So, word to the wise: you can only get away with "washing" a coil once. Lesson learned.

Yeah, but only if you let them air dry. They will rot and rust that way. If you dry fire them to cook off the moisture from rinsing they won't disintegrate on you. The nice thing about the older clearo coil heads is they use fiberglass or silica wicking which won't burn when dry firing. Some of the newer sub-ohm clearos use cotton wicking and you can't dry fire them to clean them unless you are willing to replace the wicking in them.

Rebuildables are easy to wash clean and reuse as long as you dry fire before storing them. Sometimes I clean BCC coil heads in vodka and even store them in a container of it until the next use.

I'm also no expert on the metal properties but I think the nichrome wires used in most clearos will rust or rot far quicker than kanthal wire

I've heard that about nichrome as well Johnny, it seems kanthal just lasts longer for some reason.

RE: Jumped In With Both Feet.
Welcome!

Get the iStick.  You can't beat them for the money if you're going with a regulated box.  The 30 is awesome, the 50 is moar awesomer.  Smile

I researched like, everything out there before settling on the iSticks for our upgrades.  Wife (vapes a lot less than I do) has the 30 with a ProTank3.  Never goes over like 8 watts, lasts her all day and sometimes 2 or 3 on a charge.

I have the 50, with a SubTank and some serious custom coil configurations and modifications to the tank.  I vape a *LOT*.  Get all day use out of that battery, plenty of power to run dual-coil .5 ohm builds - I can't say enough about this combination.

But hey - opinions are like...  Well - you know.  Wink

RE: Jumped In With Both Feet.
So, I've pretty much decided on the Istick 50. Trying to decide on a tank/clearo. I've tried it with an Atlantis, and an Arctic. I was advised against the Atlantis cuz the carto is only good to 30W (?), where the Arctic is good to 50. Any (other) reason I should go with one over the other? And, how do these compare with the above mentioned SubTank??

I'm sure everyone is sick of me saying it, but the KangerTech SubTank and the iStick's are like, made for each other.  But thge Arctic is a fine piece.  Enjoy!

RE: Jumped In With Both Feet.
I went back for a second tank. A Sense Heracles. I think its more well made than the Arctic. I may try the SubTank next. Only thing, though, I'm finding all my juices are now borderline-overpowering with the Istick. Is there a nice mellow juiceanyone can recommend?
